This is the guide to the game Metal Slug™ Defense[www.snk-corp.co.jp] (shorten called MSD) by SNK Playmore (present now as SNK®[www.snk-corp.co.jp]) for STEAM port form Moblie [iOS, Android] as Tower Defense strategy games as the official game installment directly form SNK itself (which is capture it's best of game feel)

Metal Slug Defense for STEAM was added on 1 May 2015 which is still been stuck as ver 1.0.4 (1.22.0 on mobile) for a decade while mobile is on the latest update as ver 1.46.0 which had a lot of updates and playable units /w CO-Op PvE mode events.

Hello and welcome to my GUIDE.

As it guides title said, It's not "quite ULTIMATE" as you think, I'm not gonna all cover entire how the Basic system worked, How to find POWs, Deep calculations unit stats in precise number unit stats, The exploit ETC. form 0 to 100% but rather do them in brief and short to understand simple terms.

I'm going to cover and deep analysis of its F2P units stats and how to use them in the maximum potential possible + SORTIE mode to get All Free units, Since in STEAM port are built differently as special case form mobile version and MSA, peoples are might no clue which way should be started first or use the best free units. (which focuses only on the current STEAM version)

If you wanted me to COVER all of MSD as REAL ULTIMATE guide, Just let me know if more people are asking for its requests and by giving like, favorites or giving awards on this guide in high demands, I will consider it update for more of Its contents.

Also, a small reminder that I am not quite a good English user/speaker in the context of writing sentences might cause some confusion to read but I tried my best I hope it could be helpful enough.

THE LORE and history in brief of this guide
Due to the tragedy, Metal Slug Attack[www.snk-corp.co.jp] (MSA) a sequel to this game is shutting down announcement[www.snk-corp.co.jp] 12 January 2023, as well as the mobile version of Metal Slug Defense, are following shutting down announcement as to be terminate online services[www.snk-corp.co.jp] as in 17 April 2023 (Which Ironically as forgotten game that haven't been update after MSA release)

For all of the things happening MSD on STEAM port version are "lucky" to survive the termination form $NK, As the Metal Slug fanboy as well as MSD/MSA Veterans, I decided to make its guide for people "who" still like to enjoy relics of the past either MSD veterans, MSA enjoyers or just a fan who are curious about what game it's like when MS at their peak of mobile gaming, this guide will surely lead you and hoping you're enjoying it. (even quite tedious as the mobile game how design be grinding)
SORTIE mode SPEEDRUN [World1 1/2]
Since it is
IMPOSSIBLE
to use medals to buy units in STEAM port, I will skip entirely on "Medal purchasable unit" set-up deck that can find POW quickly unless you're really desperate to buy the "DLC" unit to make you life to find POWs easier :troll:

This one is bit long sections but upon staring the SORTIE MODE you will be given by 6 units
  • Soldier (Regular) - The worker and the slave of regular army, act like normal rebels infa. but more HP, POW finder worker (Tbh, you really don't want to all the way to world 3 use to find POW, Just get the samurai plane you can check Another world section to find more about this unit)

  • SV-001 - The ONLY options of the mid-rage unit you got for clearing world 1, unless you got the better free unit to replace.

  • Sandbag - Good'o pal for PvP but for SORTIE mode kinda bit discarded after a few stages

  • 10M TARO - orange recolor Hayakutaro, CQC specialist maybe reward for 1st Anni. or 10 Million users download in mobile version, Ditch it after done 1st stage form start.

  • Mini Jupiter King - radio-controlled toys size Jupiter kings, The reward for 1st Anni. decent unit but super long startup attack, Ditch it after stage 5 in world 1

  • Mini Hermit - Pet size hermit crab, The reward for 1st Anni. another decent unit can possibly be used for tank roles end of world 1, Unless you got a better free unit to replace early.

There also other free units by doing Daily Log-in reward in-game by just after tutorial section at start of the game which is
  • Ostrich Slug - Obtain on day 9, Bootleg version of SV-Carmel/Carmel-slug sacrifice HP and Damage for Rush speed but at least better than use Solider (Regular) and range.

  • Elephant Slug - Obtain on day 30, BEST AoE and NUKE damage for F2P beside Zombie Marco, Incredible special attack range that can hit many DLC Big back liners boss units but the only problem is Elephant Slug big body and HP itself are not that high to tank long term damage sustained and normal attack is pretty weak.

After you clear the first few stages of world 1 you will also get the following rewards
  • Marco - Obtain after beating Stage 1, bit bad special attack, don't bother upgrade him.

  • Tarma - Obtain after beating Stage 2, Highest Hp in cast of 4 heroes and shotgun blast can might pick hidden POW in stage, still same as Marco don't bother upgrade him.

  • Fio - Obtain after beating Stage 3, Highest AP cost to call among 4 heroes but have rocket lawchair that can cause small AoE explosion to find POW with decent range, A better option Tarma and possible to get some use till end world 1, Only biggest blind spot on high-up shape terrain since the rocket fixed position form slow below position to rise a bit high up to the sky.

  • Eri - Obtain after beating Stage 4, Have laser gun that long range and multiple hit in short blast Aka. a better version of Marco and possible to get some use till end world 1, Have a same biggest blind spot on high-up shape terrain like Fio.

In FINAL stage (Stage 12) for discovering all POW you will be rewarded by
  • SV-Camel/Camel Slug - One of the decent free units, just higher cost 5 more AP of Fio and the special attack is throwing 3 nade in continuous succession in an arc which is cover a good area on the map have different terrain like in stage 8 and 11 that Fio and Eri have a problem.

In emergency area is the one of extra areas that give goodies of free units but under the condition that will appear only at specific times at 6 am, 12 pm, 6 pm and 10 pm and are available only for one hour before disappearing until next cycle (according to MSD wiki and you will see why this one better suppose play on mobile rather in PC, Since you needed the effort to open PC just unlock units while mobile just one tap to open the game app)

For discovering all POW you will be rewarded by
  • 3-Ton Utility Truck - Free all POWs on Abul Abbas stage, The spawner type unit spawning 'Arabian Fighter' (Arabian guy who run and swing sword) the Arabian who spawn are not used or share same level with other Arabian Fighter that individual units, Stil It's AP feeder after starting match if rushing is not successful.

  • Di-Cokka - Free all POWs on Allen O'Neil stage, A good shooter unit and can make a good combo with SV-001 and NOP-03 Sarubia.

  • NOP-03 Sarubia - Free all POWs on Gen.Donald morden stage, A good tank unit and can make a good combo with SV-001 and Di-Cokka, Mostly do job as a cover position for backlines unit.

  • Hopper Mecha - Free all POWs on Mars People stage, Maybe 3rd best unit of suicide units type since it does large explosions on active special attack, only problem is you needed manually handle it carefully and almost close contact moment before activating the special explosion or entirely whiff the damage.
SORTIE mode SPEEDRUN [World1 2/2]
This section will be more "picture base" than a wall of text guide in the last section or you will be just tedious and out of boredom reading my all guide (I swear, In the world 2 sections will be less text)

THE WORLD MAP [World 1]


There is a total of 12 stages in each world (+4 emergency stages)


Each stage has POW you needed to help and release to gain the passive skill during your playthrough (AP build-up speed, AP cap, Unit HP/ATTACK increase, MSA Damage/Cooldown speed, Base stats, ETC.) You can check how much POW you collect by clicking selected stages and checking the bottom right of the stage that has the button Hayakutaro and POW text under it.

This is my best suggestion for what you needed to grind it first and not waste time on collecting other passive POW skills (You can come back and collect it later after doing all 12 stages, and you needed it anyways)

  • Stage 1 Marchirus Dennis Rossi - AP rate rise up significantly (You needed it)
  • Stage 2 Tarmicle Roving III - Max AP cap. significantly increases (For next world AP units that require higher cost to call)
  • Stage 3 Fioina Germi - Production rate reduce significantly (You needed it)
  • Stage 4 Eri Kasamoto - More rewarding MSP when cleared stages (You needed it for upgrade)
  • Stage 6 RED EYE - More AP gained when defeating enemies (Bit optional, make you run easy since more AP when kills enemies)
  • Stage 7 Trevor Spacey - HP all units you own up significantly (You needed it)
  • Stage 8 Nadia Cassel - ATTACK power all units you own up significantly (You needed it)
  • Stage 11 Rumi Aikawa - Max. value of the sortie increases (For more energy to POW hunt)
  • Stage 12 SV-CAMEL/CARMEL-Slug - Get Tactical CAMEL as units (Obviously need it)

Some passive skills are only needed for PvP like Base HP / MSA Damage, Cooldown Speed but you can collect on the way if you feel like you needed it, This is just only my suggestion for speeding things up through SORTIE mode ASAP.

SORTIE mode SPEEDRUN [World2]
No slower down, We're going short and fast since there are no more needed introductions in a section of world 1.

THE WORLD MAP [World 2]


This is the same as my suggestion from world 1 to world 2 as what you needed to grind it first and not waste time on collecting other passive POW skills (You can come back and collect it later after doing all 12 stages as always)

  • Stage 1 Ralf Jones - AP rate rise up significantly (You needed it)
  • Stage 2 Clark Still - Max AP cap. significantly increases (For this world AP emergency units that require high cost to call)
  • Stage 3 WHIP/Muchiko - Production rate reduce significantly (You needed it)
  • Stage 4 Leona Heidern - More rewarding MSP when cleared stages (For upgrading Units)
  • Stage 6 Hayakutaro Ichimonji - More AP gained when defeating enemies (Bit optional)
  • Stage 7 Lilly - HP all units you own up significantly (You needed it)
  • Stage 8 Cynthia - ATTACK power all units you own up significantly (You needed it)
  • Stage 11 Madoka Aikawa - Max. value of the sortie increases (For more energy to POW hunt)
  • Stage 12 Zombie Marco - Get Zombie Marco as units (Obviously need it)

For Zombie Marco information - He's one of the best special attack for A0E range of all cover half-screen + anti-air + knockback power and is good for POW finder, Only trouble thing is during the normal attack animation are walking forward while shooting which is mean getting himself killed and normal attack kinda slow and weak, You won't be keeping him so long in battles.

For discovering all POW in emergency stages you will be rewarded by
  • Abul Abbas - Free all POWs on Abul Abbas stage, Are Unlocking Abul Abbas himself have decent walk speed and CQC specialist, But his special is really B R U H as spawning 3-Ton Utility Truck where position he command which is totally useless since Truck and Arabian itself are already AP feeder, which in conclusion just don't upgrade him AT ALL.

  • Allen O'Neil - Free all POWs on Allen O'Neil stage, Unlocking Allen O'Neil Himself as a playable unit which is Super good Repacler for SV-001 as moderately better HP than SV-001 itself and has a better normal attack by using burst fried shot form M60, Still Allen is going soon have a replacement soon after this.

  • Gen.Donald Morden - Free all POWs on Gen.Donald Morden stage, Unlocking Gen.Donald Morden Himself a playable unit, This might be possible BEST free unit ever exists in MSD even no other DLC boss can surpass the special skill of tie-breakers in this game even have terrible movement speed/Big body and terrible attack rate, You can learn more about his super special about inside the unit analysis section soon.

  • Mars People - Free all POWs on Mars People stage, Unlocking Mars People Themself as playable units, This one is a bit ok but they're still too weak for long-range shooter units, the special thing about them is all their projectile can be target following in the certain distance with the stack of big groups of Martians this can be bit deadly but their body is too weak for damage resistance, Even their special attack can be avoided some incoming damage but they're won't stand long for be a stack of big groups.

After done world 2, you should be good enough to deal with Another world which has alot of rewards for free units, you can skip and take a look at another world section after the world 3 sections.
SORTIE mode SPEEDRUN [World3]
You know the drill, let's make it quick

THE WORLD MAP [World 3]



This is the last world that you're gonna grind job for POW for permanent passive skills, Some POW on this world stage might skip/not be needed to rescue like Max AP cap. since world 2 has already done the job (like to summon Gen.morden)

Also be aware that in this world, enemy units starting using the special attack aginst you now.

  • Stage 1 Zombie Ralf - AP rate rise up significantly (You needed it)
  • Stage 3 Zombie WHIP - Production rate reduce significantly (You needed it)
  • Stage 4 Zombie Leona - More rewarding MSP when cleared stages (Upgrading Units funds)
  • Stage 6 Zombie Fio - More AP gained when defeating enemies (optional)
  • Stage 7 Zombie Eri - HP all units you own up significantly (You needed it)
  • Stage 8 Zombie Nadia - ATTACK power all units you own up significantly (You needed it)
  • Stage 11 Zombie Hyakutaro - Max. value of the sortie increases (more energy to POW hunt)
  • Stage 12 Zombie Heidern - Get Trevor(mummy) as units (Obviously need it)

For Trevor(mummy) information - Let's say he's a straight-up upgrade from SV-CARMEL/CARMEL-Slug bit higher cost than Carmel but slower walking speed with upgraded HP, his special attack is throwing.... STONE?(It's actual special 'nade in MS3 btw) 4 times, For 5th time throwing out his own explosive head (which also in main game had a chance you'll saw mummified version of the characters throwing their head instead of throwing normal 'nade, which is funny)

For discovering all POW in emergency stages you will be rewarded by
  • Elite Arabian Soldier - Free all POWs on Zombie Abbas stage, The "REAL" CQC Specialist unlike Abul Abbas himself even re-color or let's just say It was the first version "Specials Abul Abbas?" before MSA :troll:, Still, with really cheap cost/ok speed movement and Insane damage deal on the special attack, this is only free best game opening you ever have to replace with Mini hermit.

  • Cyborg Allen O'Neil/Mecha Allen - Free all POWs on Zombie Allen stage, Again, Form you hard-working in world 2 your favorite bald head funny muscle man got powercreep by the "fake" version of him (even in-game description said false information since Allen is gigachand and never need cyborg implant for heal heavy injured, they're just didn't update the game version that change mecha allen into independent fiction yet, since mecha allen was fake replica belonged amadeus syndicate)

    Just say this version is 50 more AP cost, More HP, Bit slow normal attack but increase his special attack into consecutive 5 nade throwing.

  • Morden Robot - Free all POWs on Zombie Morden stage, The Di-Cokka replacer yet another straight upgrade free unit from world 1 fake version of Gen.mordan belong by amadeus syndicate, the attack animation and projectile range might feel less effective compared to Di-cokka but the strongest point is when Hp drops to 0 and change into phase to that became 1st best suicide unit and staller/wall unit (for this MSD version), now all the AP you deploy him are not wasted.

  • Mars Peoples Cadre - Free all POWs on Zombies Mars People stage, The other straight upgrade free unit from world 2 Mars Peoples themselves with better firepower since shooting fast cyan spore shot with no target tracking and doing a barrage of multiple shot while teleporting but having the same issue as being born as intergalactic tentacles their original counterparts like HP still too low and special attack now do not gain any invulnerable frame during its animations.
SORTIE mode FREE UNITS [Another World]
THE BIG BAD BOSS IS HERE

Well, slot of...It's the same boss from world 3 but this world is exist before the world 3 updates in MSD

This is where you can find the goodies free units and difficulty quite rise up, If you came after from world 2 section or just finish world 3 sections you should aware that in this world enemies also can use the special as well, so be careful.

THE WORLD MAP [Another World]



There is nothing to do on POW rescue for passive skill but unlock free unit reward, You're currently at end-game contents now like bonus stages, It's pretty much nothing but preserved as a challenge world map.

You can try run your best to beat all stages into [S] rank which rewards you with 3 medals for each stage that all cleared with all [S] ranks, which ironically in mobile is a very useful stage since you can "purchase" units with a medal but on STEAM port SNK do different rules here :troll:

So the only thing you can do there now is garbing some free units at daily boss stages.



Daily boss work bit different from emergency stage boss, In another world boss you have 24-hour form 00:00 am (from what I do remember) till the end of the day and the stage will change with the other stage location that will unlock the other units of that day.

This is a list of each day and each stage boss which units will be rewarded from picture by left to right.
  • Roberto Nicola - Opening stage on Monday, Will reward FAT Marco, an Improved version of the original counterpart as Its function is identical same as normal Marco, I will explain later in the units review section since there is nothing much to talk about it.

  • Nathalie Neo - Opening stage on Tuesday, Will reward FAT Tarma, an Improved version of the original counterpart as Its function is identical same as normal Tarma, I will explain later in the units review section.

  • Alisa Stewart - Opening stage on Wednesday, Will reward FAT Eri, an Improved version of the original counterpart as Its function is identical same as normal Eri, But its actual improvement on this version.

  • Allen O'Neil Jr. - Opening stage on Thursday, Will reward FAT Fio, an Improved version of the original counterpart as Its function is identical same as normal Fio, I will explain later in the units review section.

  • Sophia - Opening stage on Friday, Will reward Slug Copter, The only actual units free air-craft 1 of 3 you can get, The most useful one but it's quite weak and expensive to call but can do finding POW job as well but only trigger the attack when enemies within range to shoot.

  • Margaret - Opening stage on Saturday, Will reward Flying Tara, The only actual units free air-craft 1 of 3 you can get, Not that useful but cheap and spamable for quick air support damage.

  • Eris - Opening stage on Sunday, Will reward Samurai Planes, The only actual units free air-craft 1 of 3 you can get, This one like Flying Tara not much helpful but BEST POW finding job for your SORTIE run, get it as fast as possible or you will be stuck with Solider(Regular) units painfully manual to finding POWs.
Another World BOSS Guide
For extra bonus for those who are just come from World 2 section, this is my small briefing guide that should help you how to deal with each boss of each day if you have a problem to deal with them.

If you're caught any problem like the base are getting destroyed before doing anything, I suggest you should go back to World 1/2 and started grinding POW to unlock the upgrade your base HP that you leftover/skipped.
  • MONDAY - Tetsuyuki
    This guy is nothing much different from normal world stages, maybe more rebels solider spawn form Tetsuyuki?
    But aren't that a big deal either way, Just beat him as usual way you do in normal world.

  • TUESDAY - Shoe & Karni

    The boss of the stage is a bit different Since the stage now does not function as "base" opposite side to destroy but as "units" of the stage itself that need to be destroyed which is 'Karn' are the target of this stage.

    Due how small the size of the stage length are, My best suggestion use any cheap units like Solider or sandbag as a bullet sponge of first wave of cannon bullets and then used any cheap attacker unit like SV-Carmel to deal damage while keeping used sandbag to cover your base and hold until you can call tank units like Mini hermit or Sarubia, On this point you're pretty safe to beat this stage now.

  • WEDNESDAY - Huge Hermit
    Same as Tetsuyuki but here are some 2 Chowmein and 1 Ohumein(Red) Greet upon starting stage that is going make you busy a bit but you can deal with them without much trouble.

  • THURSDAY - Jupiter King
    This one work bit different rules same as Shoe & Karn day, There will be going 3 Jupiters on their way going obliterate your base with a small space given some time to set-up before they approached and also there going be rebels flying tara keeping spawn do bomb drop spam over on you to make the day even worst.

  • FRIDAY - Monoeye
    If you think they're one of the worst alien units, they still are as they were.
    Just beat the stage the same way you do in normal world stages just now they're going spawning extra monoeye to help boss monoeye during stages.

  • SATURDAY - Ryunosuke / Dragon Nosuke

    Another one of the bad news stages, Same as Shore & Karn this is one of the toughest stage to get free units of game.

    At the start There are going be rebels soldiers groups and Bradley going greet you with small space to setup and after Bradley there will be Melty Honey and Sarubia going followup to going bombing your base, Also like jupiter king stages flying tara will keep spawning indefinitely dropping bomb over you.

    After all the troubles. The Dragon Nosuke is should on halfway to approaching your base, it depends on how fast you can clear the starting groups If you're fast enough you can use sandbag to buy times, My best suggestion is to use a unit with high HP like Sarubia tank the damage from Nosuke big fireball cannon/bullet attack and Medium size shooter unit like SV-001 or any version of Allen, don't try to rush or unit light shooter unit like SV-Carmel, It stand no chance to fight directly and don't forget flying tara still keep spawning to chip your shooter units HP always.

  • SUNDAY - Double Iron Nokana

    This one worked like Tuesday stages Shoe & Karn, Nokana come in a double pack but with more space to breathe but don't let your guard low yet since both of tank more HP than Shore & Karn and have penetrate tank canon bullet, as well as Abul Abbas come support both tank but I rather say free AP for make this stages easier.

    Say not much big worries on this stage, Also reward best unit for SORTIE mode for find POW very fast.

Hope this Boss section guide can help you pass all the stages.
Unit Stats & Roles in General
This section wil explained the general thing next section that make you understand overall purpose and roles of each units.

Roles
The mains purpose of the units, The core of usage.
I will spilt them in 3 type.
  • Attackers - The main workforce of the team, The damage dealer, This roles are doing a job that will lead matches into victory mostly pushing enemies unit back and making the space lead to destroying enemies base, The only problem is they're might not stand last long since most of the pusher attacker taking damage by being at the frontline and help the team push.

  • Defenders - Area control of the team, as well as don't have excel in dealing damage but due to the defender either high Health Point and a big body to take damage cover team or dealing damage to stop enemies push your position back and keep zone that your attacker hard-working pushing areas for the team lead to victory.

  • Supporter - This role is not excellent in any roles, Like they have a decent amount HP but can't take too much damage or have a good damage deal but can't push by themselves, This is the support are things.

Specialist
The next topic is about sub-roles after their main roles category, which is what special traits part they're good about it in their main roles.
  • Rusher - This units type has a low cost to call at the very start of the match and very fast rapid movement but sacrifices HP and damage (Some don't, Like KOF units), Mostly can't do anything much or became useless after mid-game but very dangerous on starting the match on short map.

  • CQC (Close Quarters Combat) - This kind of unit is very good at close-range damage and helps the team push forward (and die pretty quickly too) also this most tie to "Rusher" traits.

  • Shooter - Self-explanation, this unit does nothing but only shoot the projectile and deal damage, always at the backline and keep dealing damage as your main workforce.

  • Spammer - These traits type quite sad and downright bad, only good things are very fast to produce with a very large amount of unit that tie of Rusher traits can be overwhelming with a number count but after mid-game, This type unit became AP feeder which makes opponent profit on unit you're produced by killing them and get free AP which is really bad on the long term while you spend all AP to produce them.

    Most of them are rare to make good use for rush game strategy (If you are going extreme rush deck) or some can be of good use in mid-game but won't contribute help much.

  • Zoner/Staller - Unit keep the area clean and don't let enemies push you back by holding the position of your area that has been pushed and not doing much engagement on pushing forward jobs. (That leave to CQC or Shooter job)

  • Tank - As the name implies, have TON of Hp that and be a meatshield or bullet sponge of a team even not in the frontline but be a shield of shooter traits are counted as well.

  • Nuker - This unit type can DEAL MASSIVE DAMAGE upon using the special attack with a wide area, Few bosses and units can achieve his traits

  • Unorthodox/Uncommon - This one also has weird traits, like Nuker few units can be achieved.

    It has an uncommon kind of attack like can be moved and ignored by entire ground units and go straight to the enemy's base deal some chip damage and keep doing it until enemies base gets destroyed or timed out to win the match by just having more total base health than enemies base.

This should be all of the kind of units types to be an explanation for MSD units type
Unit Review [Free] [Starter unit 1/2]
After the LONG SORTIE and another section walkthrough of the game, you can read the information on each free unit in detail and enjoy.

By this stats review, I will consider all the unit stats in the list are based on MAX level 30 and all POW passive skills are rescued in all 3 worlds.

    In-game description: A common military solider. Wars are won with numbers!!

    Reviews:"Wars are won with numbers" is quite true but surely you can't win the war with these guys, A free tiny upgraded version of rebels Infantry with decent movements but is not the best deal out here even rush tactics, unless you're really new in-game and wanted to tryout PvP mode.

    As you saw in the unit demonstration preview, HP is so low even barely survived form take a hit from girida-O cannon shot but the grenade special attack is quite useful for POW hunt in SORTIE mode but it's painful to manually click each solider to throw nade' to find POW, Just....get samurai plane to replace those guy for your sake in SORTIE mode.

    Reviews: It's a goddang sandbag what do you expect? The first helpful building unit from the start of the game along with solider before Mini hermit and Jupiter became given free form start in the newer mobile version of the game(which is same in STEAM version)

    You thought this guy was useless for SORTIE mode but it's actually useful in some stages (like another world) which is give you small space and set-up time because enemies pre-spawn near your base and this is only cheap-cost damage sustained bunker you have that can hold the enemies line.

    Also, they're quite useful for PvP since the builder run speed quite really fast and can hold enemies as obstacle for few seconds for rush unit you have can take advantage of reserve cover the area first as well as power for stopping MSA attack, You can set-up between your defenders group for protecting backlines unit not taking damage by MSA
    (Be aware, if backline shooter unit stand on the same position where sandbag place, Sandbag will not take cover any damage for other units due sandbag will not cover any spread or hitscan damage or some projectile, Depends of you unit hitbox size stand same position of sandbag)

    But due slow startup attack animation same as the actual Jupiter, it makes this unit not good use for PvP, even attacks can cause knockback but mini JP. also has a really bad time on their own knockback that can push them to almost backlines position, As a frontline unit that "should push enemies" they've got really terrible knockback push or shooter unit will kill them first before pull the eye laser attack.

    Reviews: Pet size Huge Hermit Decent frontline tank pusher, Tiny bullet sponge for SORTIE mode but for world 2 or 3 have a bit hard time to deal for sustain heavy damage but damage deal is still good and have some knockback power.

    Due this unit might use the same entire boss Huge Hermit attack script besides the unit size and HP, Hermit can easily cause small knockback hitstun by take rapid projectile damage that can interrupt his special attack on start-up which cancel its special attack.

    Also, special attack when killing the first target on the way hermit will be stuck same position rapid claw attack which is not sure is intended for balancing or SNK just forget programmed to rush forward after killing enemies during a special attack, That makes it worst weakness stuck on rank C.

    Reviews: The decent shooter unit from starting of the game, Not the best deal out here but this is only the best you can have for now, With the amount of medium HP and decent special attack firepower per cannon shot, SV-001 is one of the essence units for SORTIE mode run.

    For PvP it's not that great since the normal attack is a bit weak but the cannon attack deal some moderate damage, So it's overall average joe units and not good enough to be attacker roles, Fit more on supporter type.

    It has a special attack that can burst big fireball projectile with a high chance of knockback and fly upward arc curve will hit everything that is big enough stand on backlines (especially the boss unit) or any aircraft unit will not survive it, Both F2P and DLC player "will" make good use of this guy a lot, Only problem is normal attack is pretty meh and due large size of Elephant slug AP quite high for 400 AP but HP is bit low average of unit AP cost that high it will getting themselves killed and will stand not for long.

    Still, if used correctly group of Di-cokka units that burst the special attack cannon at the same time can be deadly enough to kill some KOF unit or Nop3-Sarubia in one group burst.

    In mid-game have a bit hard time with hopper since they will die before do any attempt to deal some damage and become AP feeders but can still be good use for any enemies attempts trying to push you (like KOF unit that excel at CQC pushing work which is run straight to Hopper Mecha explosion range)

    In case if don't aware, His special attack that summoning Hi-Do, The Hi-Do itself besides being invulnerable (Because it doesn't count as a unit but part of the special attack itself) one thing that gives Gen.Morden S rank is a unique special attack that "Do direct damage to the base" !?

    Yes, you saw it right it can directly deal damage to the base across the screen which is he's only BEST FREE UNIT that other DLC units don't have any of this skill besides him, you can go on late game strategy like do some chip damage to the opponent base and win as tie-breaker without worries but also don't forget any player can obtain him as well, so the game now all about who summon Gen.Morden first and called Hi-Do to win (or kill Gen.Morden before he called the Hi-Do)

    His Saber Thrust / Stinger attack is really powerful and can kill some tank enemies units like Sarubia, When Abul dashes thrusting forward during animation it will inflict a lot of multiple-hit damage right at starting the animation dash attack, This could even possibly kill some KOF unit in one stab if timing correct.

    Reviews: 50 AP more and you have a better version of Allen even though he's supposed to be fix to fiction in a later update but sadly for Amadeus fanboy in this STEAM version he's still under rebels fictions and mobile version are already shut down, so there is nothing much you can do for full fiction bonus without best damage dealer of the team.

    With their special attack, They can cause enough serious damage if you can stack 2 of them and pull a special attack at the same time.

    This is a very good unit only things worse are not good enough to be shooter damage deal units type.

    Reviews: 1 of 3 free Aircraft units obtain by free all POW on Sunday Stage, Only useful in SORTIE mode since it will sweep every area in stage with bullet spray = it will find every single POW if not blocked bullet by tall enemies, For PvP there is not much use but stray bullet might hit enemies base for chip damage.

    But seriously, If you want a base damage chipper just use Gen.Morden he can just do this job better.
