At the very beginning of the game you will find yourself in the start menu. This is currently the only menu, in which the game searches for new input devices to add to the input device list. If you are connecting a new gamepad to your computer, then go all the way back to this menu to refresh your input device list.

In addition you are going to define your main input device after clicking start game. If you press space on your keyboard to start the game, your keyboard and mouse will be the main input device. If you press button south on your gamepad, the gamepad is going to be the main input device.

The main input device has navigation priviledges. With it you can navigate through all menus. You are the boss and you can decide what to play!

You can change the main input device if you go all the way back to the start menu by clicking escape or backspace with the keyboard or button east with the gamepad. Back in the start menu you can press start game with the desired new input device.

In the main menu the main input device can navigate through the menu elements. Use WASD or the arrow keys on the keyboard or left stick or dpad on the gamepad to navigate through the menu elements. Press space on the keyboard or button south on the gamepad to confirm your selection. Pressing backspace (or escape in the main menu) on the keyboard or button east on the gamepad will bring you back to the previous menu.
