Prologue - A Witch's Notes

Here's some tips on how to defeat these bosses and probably get some inspiration on how to do it.

Note: I'm too lazy to remove my gear, especially if the situation is "If it ain't broke, don't fix it."

Gear

  • Pulley's Butterfly
  • Moon Of Mahaa-Kalaa

Sometimes, I switch out the Moon Of Mahaa-Kalaa with the Gaze Of Despair. Because, I am broke (But I only use it in areas where there's only one or three angels).

Don't Forget To:

Note: Like the Purple Magic Lollipop - Casting Spells With The Keyboard: Bayonetta, I am experimenting here. Also, I am playing on the Normal mode and will update as I go.
Stay In The Kitchen/Hell's Gate
I am a cheapskate, I rather save my Halos and Magic Purple Butterflies for important stuff, like Techniques. Also, Rodin only can sell you a limited amount of these and who knows when you'll survive long enough to play the Angel Arcade and buy supplies.

Do the female stereotype of "staying in the kitchen" and cooking up a storm of candy. These candies provide recharge the HP, Magic energy and shields. Because you'll need these, especially if you "game journalist" suck.

Vigrid, Chapters Of Deja Vu

After first opening up the game and doing menu things, you'll be greeted by the next chapter. Press Tab to open up a tiny menu bar and click on Chapter Select. Then go to one of the farming chapters.

Double, Double, Toil, And Trouble

To stay in the kitchen and brewing is an relatively easy, but boring method. It requires a lot of backtracking and replaying chapters. This game is like one of the Devil May Cry games, you can replay chapters and bring in your swangy weapons (and your recently saved stuff).

The best chapters to do some home cooking are chapters 1, the Angel's Metropolis, and (Don't confuse the prologue with Chapter One). Gather candy shards to concoct them. These are good chapters to gather shards for baking, the shards can be found by breaking vases, benches, trash bins and similar objects.

Press Tab on your keyboard to open up your inventory, click on Items and then click on Concocting Compounds .

A recipe book will open.

Scroll up/down on the mouse wheel, until you get to the shard(s) that you want to use.

Press the Spacebar/place your mouse on the Concoct circle and click repeatedly like getting Garromorah to chomp down on some Beloveds, until your lollipop or flute is complete.

Do this process as much as you can until you have enough sweets to help you get by.

Hot Topic

Since you'll be gathering up Halos and Magic Purple Butterflies for cooking, it's a good idea to swing by and pick up a few supplies.

Buy the Techniques first and foremost, since they're the most important ones there, follow by the Accessories.

Bloody Rose Lollipop Tip:

Equipping the Gaze Of Despair will make the battles a bit harder, but the heavenly beings will drop more Halos than normal.

Best toy evah.

Some weapons can be obtain for free, you don't need to buy them. Just collect LPs/assembled LPs and give 'em to Rodin. He will craft ya a new toy.

Normal
Fortitudo (Chapter IV)
Gear

  • Pulley's Butterfly
  • Moon Of Mahaa-Kalaa

Weapons

  • Shuraba
  • Onyx Roses (Whatever pistols that can pack a punch or do a hybrid, one Scarborough Fair and one OR).

Gameplay

Ya know that hourglass that ya got from Chapter 3? It has it's own safe space island that's located when the angel destroys the place. Stick with that island and activate the hourglass to revert things.

Beware of the QTE, like when you're hopping from rock to rock, since you're also doing Witch Time. Quickly find the "spacebar" icons.

Tip: Besides staying in the kitchen, just do practice tests and try to learn and memorize his attack patterns. (Try not to use up your candies, I encourage that ya don't use them at all. You're here to learn. Save them for the main confrontation.)

Shuraba

This weapon can be use to reflect Fortitudo's fireballs back at him and to slice him when one of it's heads fall to the ground injured. It's a good idea to switch between your pistols and katana.
Joy (Chapter VI)
Gear

Weapons

Set #1

  • Kulshedra
  • Onyx Roses (or Scarborough Fair, whatever ya dig.)

Set #2

  • Kulshedra
  • Odette

Gameplay

The first phase is the chase scene in the corridor, all ya have to do is go Panther Within or just equip Odette. Either way you have to go fast, avoid the light beams and catch up with your clone.

After reaching the end, a boss battle will ensure. Beware that there's gonna be two other Joys will pop out after ya defeat the first one.

Temperance (Chapter 7)
Gear

  • Pulley's Butterfly
  • Moon Of Mahaa-Kalaa

Weapons

Set #1

  • Kulshedra
  • Pistols (Whichever ya dig)

Set #2

  • Kulshedra
  • Odette

This is a tricky boss, this is where your weapons come in handy. At the first few minutes, keep using spells, kicks, whipping and punching. But be careful of the angel's lazer eyes and tube lazer beams.

After a tiny cut scene of Temperance's shoulder gets dislocated, skate to the shoulder area, that's were one of it's red orb joint is located (I just called it like that, but there's more of these buttons(?)). Kick, whip and punch it, the Odettes supply more damages since, these skates are design to freeze foes. Repeat when it's second arm gets dislocated.
Golem (Chapter 9)
Gear

  • Pulley's Butterfly
  • Moon Of Mahaa-Kalaa

Weapons

  • Kulshedra
  • Odette

Now this boss, use the Kulshedra for it to open up and reveal it's red pearl. This pearl is it's weak spot.

The skates are for dodging, since it will transform into various creatures and things, like a Pokemon/Tron bird reject, a dragon head and a pair of arms.
Bronzong (Chapter 14)
Gear

  • Pulley's Butterfly
  • Moon Of Mahaa-Kalaa

Weapons

Set #1

  • Soi-Fon Sai Fung *
  • Scarborough Fair

The earlier parts of this chapter are a preparation phases, its' because they're preparing ya to raise up the magic gauge bar, which ya must save for him. The mid phase is when angels are attacking the plane, this is your chance to press the Tab button to refill your gauge bars and switch weapons.

The Bronzong angel appears in the final part of this chapter. Fighting him is doing a 3D reference/shout out to "Galaxiga". Just shoot his face, that's his weak point. Be sure to shoot the tiny body-less cherubs and dodge his laser beam.

* I recommend something really strong that can pack a punch, like the 'Lt.Col. Kilgore'.

Note: I got the Soi-Fong Sai Fung from doing a huge ton of backtracking to the previous chapters and farming, its to the point that I managed to do 100 chapters. Most gamers don't have the patience to nab the Messiah, HWV.56 Golden LP, except for achievement hunters.
Honorable Mentions - Not Bosses
Note: These are just notes and minor stuff.

In Chapter 6, there's this hallway with the spikes. Just cautiously walk/run through the hall and avoid the spikes (There's no need to morph into panther with this puzzle). Once ya reach the end, break the rocks and pull the lever.
