What is the simple series about?
Workers and Resources is a complicated game, when you are new (or newish) it is very easy to struggle with basic things like getting public transport working.

There are video tutorials but not only do you have to invest 10 minutes or even as much as an hour, but they might never mention or just gloss over the specific thing you wanted to know. The simple series provides bite-sized chunks of information that you can skim through in a minute to get what you want to know.

The simple series often provides a single opinioned way to do things. not because it is the only way or even the best way, but just because it is easy to explain concisely.
Use a construction office for free landscaping
If you build a construction office and put some bulldozers and excavators in it, then you can landscape for free (in a radius) when in construction mode.

It doesn't need to be connected to the road or electricity.
Have a bus station with 50-100 people always waiting for construction offices to use
That amount of unemployment won't cause problems, and workers are often the biggest bottleneck for construction.
There is no storage for asphalt and concrete
According to Google, it takes 48-72 hours for Asphalt to dry once produced and 24-48 hours for concrete. So if you produce 20ts of concrete and put it into storage, you'll end up with a useless 20t block of concrete in 2 days.

So in the game, there is no storage and the only way to get them is to send your construction offices directly to the asphalt/concrete plants or the customs office.
Allocating construction offices
By default, construction offices have a range of 1k which you can increase to 3km.

You can also use the "assign construction office" tool in the left menu bar to do this manually.
Deliver mechanisms only with truck
There is an option in each construction office to deliver mechanisms only with trucks

Mechanisms that can be delivered by truck are bulldozers, pavers, rollers, tower cranes and excavators. Tower cranes must be delivered by truck; they can't get to the construction site alone.

The bigger open hull trucks can carry mechanisms, e.g. the Skd 706 RTTN.

To deliver mechanisms, the open hull truck must be in the same construction office as the mechanisms.
Only really small roads require workers to be built
Most roads can be built with just bulldozers and excavators. This is also true for footpaths.

It is a good idea to (a) untick roads/etc from your bus construction office, so it doesn't try and send workers to them automatically (b) avoid connecting all the small roads until the bigger roads are complete to avoid breaking up the big roads as much as possible.

The downside is that you will have to remember to assign the construction office manually afterwards.

You can tell whether workers are required for a road by checking if there is a "mechanisms on construction site" slot.
You should build storage closer to the big construction areas
Once you get further away from your construction industry, you don't want a CO truck driving all the way back to pick up 1t of gravel.

Asphalt plants and concrete plants are a bit tricky since they require workers. You could send COs to go all the way back just for asphalt plants and concrete plants; they'll normally be full loads.

Otherwise, you could send some microbuses with workers. Asphalt and concrete plants only require 1 people to run them.

Entrance of the new construction area
Construction trains always follow signals, even for tracks under construction.

If you set it up like this, don't add any signals in the later tracks and don't put crossovers in later tracks, it should allow both tracks to be worked on simultaneously without problems.

Sometimes two trains will decide to work on the same side, in which case it will just queue until the first train returns.

There are no perfect setups for this; it's just a question of efficiency. In my realistic mode guide, I have a simple setup that can be used initially, although I have no idea how efficient it is.

When I play non-realistic, I just keep adding construction vehicles until it stops sending them out. So, I'll add another dumper if there are no dumpers in my construction offices (because they are putting gravel or asphalt somewhere).

This might seem absurd, but by the time you start using construction offices in non-realistic moe, you can afford a few hundred thousand on trucks to give you maximum construction speed.

A list of what type of vehicule is required for what construction would be nice
