I want to update it, but just cannot at the moment

Please do not comment about how your campaign is not working, this is in alpha

Cosmopolitan is the setup for a modern day mod, while it does not work fully on its own I'm providing it as a basemap for other modders to use. I tried my best to include all breakaway states as I intend to not endorse any of them. If a breakaway state is here, its not because I agree with it, I wanted to be objective, so I spent time researching what regions were in what sphere.

All I ask for in return is credit + a link to the original mod page. And this mod listed as a requirement. You cannot pass off files as your own. Please keep me informed if you do use it.

262+ Nations including Breakaway States, Minority Nations, Autonomous Zones, Rebel States & Micronations.
(Including but not limited to, Abkhazia, Donetsk & Luhansk, Svalbard, Ambazonia, Carribean Island Countries, All European Microstates, Sahrawi, Palestine, Russian Caucasus Republics, and more)
400+ Releaseable Nations including Previously sovereign states, Native tribes, Unrecognised States, Easter Eggs & more.
New Cultures such as Amish, Kashubian, Kiwi, Caper & Aragonese
Accurate culture & religion map with populations in 2022
A view into the world of 2022... Not as exciting when you sound it out

Does this mod work?
Barely, for now its a basemap for modders to build their mods from. While the game is technically playable, it will not work correctly and will frequent bugs.

At the moment it plays like a vanilla victoria 3 game that is missing the starting buildings, its somewhat playable, but not completely

What bugs should I be aware of?
No Buildings. No Techs. No Events, this mod is in alpha, please do not expect it to be finished. It is also a modding resource, please do not take this as a full mod

Why should I use this basemap?
Good question, When it comes to modding I love modularity & mods of mods, I felt like providing an option for more talented modders to focus on the details of their mod rather than worrying so much about how the map looks. So if you want to get on with building the mod rather than spending several weeks just making the map, this will be for you.

Why are some autonomous regions here, but others not?
Most of it comes down to gameplay or visuals tbh, for instance the interior russian republics arent included as it would look awful ingame (will make them releaseable), and spain's autonomous regions arent included because it would not be too much fun from a gameplay POV. The UK's devolved regions are included due to current events and tensions between the devolved govts & westminster (gameplay opportunity)

TLDR; its a matter of choice, gameplay or visuals

Thought it would be nice to let you all know i'm alive, forever ill, but alive,

even though it is disappointing that the mod remains as it did 2 years ago, abandoned

Okay, so, I've got an update. Kinda.

I'll be clear, I can't update the mod, but if someone did decide to keep it maintained I would be grateful. I'd do it myself but I genuinely don't have the patience to figure out what it's problems are for the latest version on a game I honestly haven't played since 2023 lol.

You'll see me more around the Minecraft or KSA/KSP or Brickadia communities nowadays. I even make mods for those games.

But I just do not have the capacity to update this mod, i've tried on a few occasions and just couldn't figure it out. Balancing my constant battle with chronic illness, and developing mods is a tough line to balance, and bc I don't play Vic3 anymore I don't have the capacity to update it.

So this is your "go-wild" message to make your modern day mod, using the assets & code from here, so long as you give credit!

Is there a group that is currently developing a full Modern Day mod? I would be interested in joining. I know that I would instantly loose motivation on my own lol.
