In-game Trick List

This is the in-game trick list. While helpful, it doesn't do the game justice for all the possibilities Shredders provides the player.

Grabs
Grabs are simple enough to understand. They involve the player using either arm (left & right bumpers) to grab different parts of the board.

Seatbelt
(R)⇑ + LB
Hold the right joystick up while also holding the left bumper.

Method
(R)⇘ + LB
Hold the right joystick to the bottom-right while also holding the left bumper.

Japan
(R)⇙ + LB
Hold the right joystick to the bottom-left while also holding the left bumper.

Weddle
(R)⇒ + LB
Hold the right joystick to the right while also holding the left bumper.

Nosegrab
(R)⇓ + LB
Hold the right joystick down while also holding the left bumper.

Tailgrab
(R)⇑ + RB
Hold the right joystick up while also holding the right bumper.

Melon
(R)⇐ + LB
Hold the right joystick to the left while also holding the left bumper.

Indy
(R)⇒ + RB
Hold the right joystick to the right while also holding the right bumper.

Crail
(R)⇓ + RB
Hold the right joystick down while also holding the right bumper.

Stalefish
(R)⇐ + RB
Hold the right joystick to the left while also holding the right bumper.

Methoda
(R)⇗ + LB
Hold the right joystick to the upper-right while also holding the left bumper.

Double Grab
LB + RB
Hold both the left & right bumpers.

Rocket Air
(R)⇓ + LB + RB
Hold the right joystick down while also holding both the left & right bumpers.

Bloody Dracula
(R)⇑ + LB + RB
Hold the right joystick up while also holding both the left & right bumpers.

Grinds
Grinds have less to do with the player and more to do with the relationship between the board & the feature (i.e. rail, roof, car, etc.). Just understanding the direction of the board and where it interacts with the feature is enough to get started.

Bonk
Briefly touch the rail with any part of the board.

50-50
Ride the rail parallel to the board.

Board Slide
Ride the rail perpendicular to the board.

Nose Slide
Ride the rail using the nose of the board.

Tail Slide
Ride the rail using the tail of the board.

Blunt Slide
Cross over the rail and then ride it using the tail of the board.

Lip Slide
Cross over the rail and then ride it using the nose of the board.

Transfers
While riding one rail transfer to another.

Flips
There are basically two ways to perform a flip. It involved rotating either horizontally (L)⇐ / (L)⇒ or vertically (L)⇑ / (L)⇓.

Horizontally

Vertically
Frontflip (back-to-front)
(L)⇓ - (L)⇑
Flick the left joystick from down to up.

Frontflip (side-to-side)
(L)⇐ - (L)⇒
Flick the left joystick from left to right.

Backflip (front-to-back)
(L)⇑ - (L)⇓
Flick the left joystick from up to down.

Backflip (side-to-side)
(L)⇒ - (L)⇐
Flick the left joystick from right to left.

Spins
Spins essentially work the same way as flips but instead of rotating the player the board needs to rotate. There are two ways to spin. It involves rotating the board either Frontside (Counter-clockwise) (R)⇐ or Backside (Clockwise) (R)⇒.

Frontside (FS)
(R)⇒ - (R)⇐
Flick the right joystick from right to left.

Backside (BS)
(R)⇐ - (R)⇒
Flick the right joystick from left to right.

180 | 360 | 540 | 720 | 900 | 1080 | +
There is essentially only one spin trick which is the spin itself. The spin is measured by how many half / full rotations take place and are named after the degrees of rotation.

  • 180 | 0.5 rotation
  • 360 | 1.0 rotation
  • 540 | 1.5 rotations
  • 720 | 2.0 rotations
  • 900 | 2.5 rotations
  • 1080 | 3.0 rotations

For a FS 1080:
(R)⇒ - (R)⇐
Flick the right joystick from right to left and rotate for three full rotations.

Combos
Combos are all about putting everything above in whatever combination you want.
  • Spin with a grab? 540 Indy.
  • Flip with a grab? Frontflip Bloody Dracula.
  • Or maybe something a little more interesting? FS Triple-Rodeo 540 Stalefish.
Cork
The Cork is a combination between a backflip and a spin. While there are a few ways to perform this the core concept remains the same.
  • side-to-side backflip + FS spin
  • side-to-side backflip + BS spin
  • font-to-back backflip + FS spin
  • front-to-back backflip + BS spin

BS Cork
(L)⇑ - (L)⇓ + (R)⇐ - (R)⇒
Flick the left joystick from up to down while also flicking the right joystick from left to right.

Rodeo
The Rodeo is a combination between a frontflip and a spin. While there are a few ways to perform this the core concept remains the same.
  • side-to-side frontflip + FS spin
  • side-to-side frontflip + BS spin
  • back-to-front frontflip + FS spin
  • back-to-front frontflip + BS spin

BS Rodeo
(L)⇓ - (L)⇑ + (R)⇐ - (R)⇒
Flick the left joystick from down to up while also flicking the right joystick from left to right.

540 Indy
(R)⇐ - (R)⇒ + (R)⇒ RB
Flick the right joystick from left to right. Keep the right joystick to the right while also holding the right bumper.

Frontflip Bloody Dracula
(L)⇓ - (L)⇑ + (R)⇑ + LB + RB
Flick the left joystick from down to up and hold the right joystick up while also holding both the left & right bumpers.

FS Triple-Rodeo 540 Stalefish
(L)⇙ - (L)⇗ + (R)⇒ - (R)⇐ + RB
Flick the left joystick from the bottom-left to the top-right while also flicking the right joystick from right to left. Hold the right bumper as well.

Conclusion
This certainly isn't everything bit it's at least something. There are a couple I'm aware of but haven't gotten around to yet.

  • Butter
  • Lawn Dart
  • Nosepress
  • Tailpress

See you on the slopes.

You can also technically do Tame dogs as well, Just do a nose press LT + RS FORWARDS then do a front flip RT + QUICK FRONT BACK LS

The board slide looks like back lip <3

I agree about lipslide. What this guide shows is actually a nose blunt. Lip slide is similar to boardslide- boardslide if your front foot goes over the rail, lip slide if you pull your back foot over instead. But both are sliding center of the board and look like the same trick once you're in it.
Not sure if the game calls them out correct TBH, but confirming what trew said.

For frontside boardslide and backside lip slide you'll be going down butt first. For backside boardslide and frontside lip slide are easier IMO, you'll be facing the way you're going.

Very nice guide

I'm not sure how the game validates which slide is done. But I'm sure that the trick you show in the guide is technically a backside noseblunt slide - at least in real life.

It's easier to see it with a skateboard, where the rail is between the trucks while lipsliding. But since the base of a snowboard is a single surface I can see that the game confuses it with a bluntslide in some cases. If that's the case you can keep the explanation as it is imo.

Anyway thanks for making this guide. I know and appreciate how much work it takes to put a guide like this together; especially with embedded videos.

I'm glad you like the guide! Are you sure it's over the center of the board though? I know the trick counter can be a little finicky with grinds.

Really nice and comprehensive guide. Only the explanation of the lipslide needs a touch up. It's just like a boardslide but the rear foot and tail move over the rail/ledge before sliding on the middle of the board.
