Real Quick:
DISCORD RECOMMENDED!
Read this guide, and you'll know everything you need to get your build approved by the head of the Western War project!

Aim for your builds to be high quality, and don't be afraid to ask questions on how to make a good build!
Getting your build official:
(*)Once you've finished your build or think you're getting close to, upload it as "unlisted" and post the link in the build submissions channel on the discord or in the build discussions!
(*)Me and my buddies will then test every aspect of your build to see if it checks off all of the boxes.
(*)If anything needs changed, we'll comment on your build with a link of your build with fixes and stuff.
(*)If it's all done, we'll send you your description and thumbnail on the "build-publishing" channel on the discord or through the build discussion!
(*)Re-upload your build with the new thumbnail and description, along with everything else and enjoy being an official Western War creator!

!!!-If you want something specific out of the thumbnail, send us a square 512x512 PNG photo for the thumbnail on the comments of your build or just tell us and we'll try our best to match what you want!
!!!-If you want something specific out of the description, send us something on the submission description!

And finally, when you do upload your build, include this image at the end of the image thing:
To get it onto your computer:
(*)Open this guide on your browser and get to this part of the guide.
(*)Right-click the image and do "Save Image As" or "Save As" and save it onto your computer.
(*)Then add it to your build!

Do the same with your thumbnail to get it onto your computer

Doctrines
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Oceania:
Air:
Oceania never really focused on bombing capacity, only air-to-air and air-to-ship capability. Most fighter aircraft were smaller interceptors with shorter range. Air-to-ship aircraft were normally attackers or torpedo bombers with short range as well.

(*)No bombers until the late-war period
(*)Torpedo bombers and attackers are the few ordnance-carrying aircraft in the air force
(*)Most fighter aircraft are twin-engine interceptors with a few short-range fighters for dogfighting
(*)Ammo is HE and AP in the form of Mercian-supplied 20mm (LAC) bullets.

Sea:
Oceania had its Western Fleet almost completely destroyed, and most new designs are cheap and easy-to-manufacture with less focus on anti-ship armament and a much bigger focus on anti-air armament. Most ships are escort destroyers and frigates protecting convoys, and the navy rarely goes against the Ihzairi navy in naval battles, leaving it up to Oceanian aircraft to deal with the opposing navy.

(*)Heavy anti-air armament, with most guns being 20mm guns loaded with HE or AP.
(*)Weak anti-ship armament, with 5-inch guns loaded with Kinetic shells being an abundance
(*)Little-to-no use of torpedoes on ships
(*)Depth charges and a sonar are fitted to most craft
(*)Mostly destroyers and frigates with the occasional light cruiser

Land:
Oceania's ground vehicles are almost solely utility vehicles, with any combat vehicles being from the pre-war period up until the invasion. This changes with the invasion. Most up-to-date tanks are tank destroyers.

(*)A lot of old tanks
(*)A growing focus towards tank destroyers
(*)Lots of service vehicles
(*)No artillery

Technology:
Oceania (and Mercia) have well-developed autocannons packed with powerful ammunition. Sonar and damage-control is also well-developed. The ground combat sector is very outdated, and the research on larger guns is poor.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Ihzair:
Air:
Ihzairi air power is mainly bombers and bomber escorts. There are few dogfight-capable aircraft. Pretty much any aircraft mounts ordnance.

(*)A lot of bombers
(*)Fighters are large and are built for long ranges
(*)Few dogfight-capable fighters
(*)Forward-firing guns are 14mm machine guns (2- or 3- stretch) loaded with Incendiary and AP

Sea:
Ihzairi ships are old and coal-fired, but very powerful. They have very weak anti-air, however, but have heavy-anti ship armament. They also have submarines.

(*)HE and AP ammo on all guns (except anti-air, which is never above 20mm)
(*)Larger ships are big dreadnoughts
(*)Destroyers are well-equipped with torpedoes

Land:
Ihzair has arguably the world's strongest army. Chock full of artillery, tanks, and utility vehicles, it's all up-to-date.

(*)Heavy autocannons are common guns (loaded with HE for 75mm and Frag+Kinetic for 57mm)
(*)Battlecannons are the second most-used gun, always loaded with Kinetic+Frag (105mm)
(*)Tanks and artillery are up-to-date masterpieces

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Mercia:
Air:
Mercia, like Oceania, relies on air-defense fighters to stay safe. However, they have a balanced bombing capability and long-range fighter escorts.

(*)Has decent bombing capacity
(*)Larger fighters with long range
(*)Aviation ammo is the same as Oceania

Sea:
Mercia has a massive merchant fleet with the escorts to protect it from anything. The weaponry is very balanced. All vessels carry liquid fuel. They also have a sizable submarine force.

(*)Very balanced
(*)Lots of merchant vessels
(*)5-inch and 20mm munitions are the same as Oceania, as Mercia provides them with it
(*)Garbage torpedoes
(*)Decent number of submarines

Land:
Mercia has an older but sizable ground force. Most tanks are lighter and built for all terrains, and and they have many direct-fire field guns

(*)Lots of field guns (mostly for defense)
(*)Older and lighter tanks
(*)Almost exclusively 57mm guns, loaded with Frag+Kinetic with other Oceanian autocannons
(*)Great all-terrain capability

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Diamond Cosat:
Air:
The Diamond Coast has a weaker airforce. They have bombers, but they normally go
un-escorted, relying on speed to stay safe. Fighters are normally short range and are for point-defense work.

(*)Weak air force
(*)Fast bombers
(*)Short range fighters
(*)Gun armament is supplied from Ihzair

Sea:
The Diamond Coastal navy is a lot like Mercia's, although it has few merchant vessels and most vessels are coal-fired. Overall very balanced.

(*)Most anti-air is 40mm HACs (Frag rounds)
(*)5-inch shells are high-velocity (AP rounds)
(*)Moderate use of torpedoes.
(*)Few battleships and frigates, but many cruisers and destroyers

Land:
The Diamond Coastal ground force is the strength of the country, being able to take a stand even against Ihzair's army. Most technology is the same as Ihzair. The country also makes great use of rockets.

(*)Heavy autocannons are common guns (loaded with HE for 75mm and Frag+Kinetic for 57mm)
(*)Battlecannons are the second most-used gun, always loaded with Kinetic+Frag (105mm)
(*)Many quality vehicles and artillery peices.
(*)Rockets are common

can you update the discord invite link or better yet, just make a non-expirable one?
MrMereScratch  [author] 15 Jan, 2024 @ 2:37pm
It's fine you left. The project...uh...is kinda no more. I got life stuff, both busy stuff and things I'm enjoying a lot more. There is a small chance that it will come back.

Hey, sorry i left the project. I found some time and would like to join it again, if you could update discord link it would be great, and when you do make sure you set the link to not expire.

The east are forever banned from the project
>:(

But if you're truly concerned, I really don't care where you're from. Just that you can speak English well and build good stuff.
Seuchenvater 4 Apr, 2023 @ 6:37pm
What if you live in the East? Are you still allowed to build for the Western War? Or is there a secondary project for people in the East?
MrMereScratch  [author] 1 Apr, 2023 @ 7:49am
Discord link has been updated
