First, get to the main menu page, this is where you queue up for a game

You want to press F5 or click the 'change mode' button on the bottom right to change modes, on the top left will be the license mode






If you're curious, you can also at this point press R to see the bonus reward you get from finishing all the levels in a license

note that unlike the 1 star video, there are some levels where I don't have a good trick to cheese it, you can use my video as a reference for what to do, but ultimately you still have to have the foundational skills to be able to get 3 stars.

I can't login/game doesn't work

Is it p2w?

Not right now. Once season 1 starts, you will be able to upgrade your karts - of course, I don't know what that means so its good to have doubts since it's Nexon, but right now no p2w whatsoever

I heard certain karts are faster?
The plane that you get for 12k lucci and the minecart that you get upon logging in during the preseason have a faster drift speed - I am pretty sure this is a bug but yes these two karts are faster in this regard

What's the difference between preseason and season 1?

I think of preseason as open beta even though they officially call it a launch. We actually had features removed from the actual beta, for example about a dozen maps were removed; Season 1 will add back all those maps we lost, as well as a bunch of new features, basically the actual launch - it should be here around the end of February

What's the point of the license system it seems stupid?

It's a system passed down from the previous kartrider games. It used to be a lot harder with more licenses in general and was meant to serve as a sort of pve challenge mode; I agree that some sort of change would be nice as right now it's too hidden amongst other complaints

I'm lagging really bad

Unfortunately the majority of players seem to be from Asia - you can adjust the game search radius so that it doesn't search Asia but the downside is queue time will be longer. To do this, press F10 or click the 'Menu' button on the bottom left then go into Settings > General > Matching and change the Matchmaking Latency from 'Balanced' to 'Optimal'. Again you will have longer queue time doing this but should fix the lag

Here's a couple options you got:
Queue for all maps, and all modes (this is default but just in case you changed it and forgot about this)
Set Matchmaking Latency from 'Balanced' to 'Unrestricted', see above for how, lag might get really funky doing this
Wait for season 1 I mean there's just not that much to do at the moment compared to previous kartrider games

What does the player levels do?

Nothing at the moment

Will we have a reset wipe once season 1 arrives?
no

I don't like the drifting, it feels x, maybe the devs can fix it?
Unfortunately for you, the drift mechanics is what makes kartrider kartrider, and as this game is going to replace the original as the new main kartrider game, it is very unlikely they will make big adjustments. I have heard it handles slightly differently compared to the original game so maybe they will make small tweaks but the overall feel will be the same


I seem to encounter a lot of bots, how do I race against real players?
practice mode is a weird workaround to this, basically it puts you against computer enemies, but your teammates are real players, so you can just sort of race against your teammates - to enable practice mode, press F5 or the 'change mode' button on the bottom right of the main menu screen, press O to open options, then switch practice mode to 'On'

is there a ranked mode?
ranked will arrive in season 1

how to share decals with others?
you can't at the moment, it will be possible in season 1. people have made workarounds where they share the coordinates of each decal on youtube


is this game worth it?
this isn't an actual faq but I wanted to share my opinion on this: Since this will replace the original kartrider as the new main kartrider game, it's not going anywhere any time soon. If you like the core gameplay loop of doing crazy drifts, I'd say it's worth it
