Realistic Birth Rate

For those who want a more realistic birth rate or making women's rights to not be a no-brainer, I made this mod just for you (but mostly for myself).

I have massively buffed the birth rate for “Legal Guardianship” and heavily increased the negatives for “Women in the Workplace” and “Women's Suffrage”. And because i’m not a complete sadist, I also buffed the workforce ratio (not that its worth it though). I did my best research with the new modifiers, but I had to take some averages with them. I have also fiddled with the “defines” folder so it’s actually possible to get a negative population growth and have a demographic collapse (also removed the birth rate decrease from standard of living).

Sadly, because of that, it’s not savegame compatible



Oh, and for those who think the birth rate is dependent on wealth/education and not women's rights. Go check out the orthodox jewish community.

been playing with my mod for a bit and looks like the pop growth can outpace job-creation quite easily. especially if you start with a backwards economy and legal guardianship

Also, you've copied the entire defines file, while you should've only copied the parts you've changed. Check out Paradox's Wiki on defines modding. This ensures compatibility with other mods that change defines.

I really like the idea and I've been thinking of making these modifiers at least twice as big as they are in vanilla, but I think yours are just tooo extreme. The game loves +-5/10% modifiers in most places, so other modifiers would also have to be rebalanced. Counteracting that -60% birthrate just seems impossible.
The problem is that you're basically saying that all women should be working the same as men while in reality not much has changed for them with suffrage except giving an *option* (not a responsibility) to do the same work as men. Additionally, this doesn't take into account dependents. This is why the modifiers in the game are so low, because it mostly only affects a small percentage of the population (but they're still too low).

Really appreciate this mod. It sucks that the balance of vanilla laws is so uneven and we need modders to fix them.
