Fixing The Problem
1. First go to “Documents > My Games > Terraria” and look for the “config.json” file
2. Inside config file look for “MultiplayerNPCSmoothness” and set it to 0 (make sure to keep the comma at the end)
3. Then go to “Documents > My Games > Terraria > tModLoader” and find the config.json file
4. Same as before, look for “MultiplayerNPCSmoothingRange” and set it to 0
5. Restart your tmod
6. Host your world
Lag is (probably) gone!
For Players Still Having Isssues
- host your world via cmd in the tmod folder
- get better internet
- use retro or trippy lighting
- quality low
- disable the background
- disable afterimages and lower particles on the Calamity configs
- get the Optimizeraria resource pack
- get a mod that changes the lighting engine (not guaranteed to work, might worsen it)
- use fewer mods (esp beefy ones, Cal is beefy already)
FAQ
Q: The config.json file keeps setting "MultiplayerNPCSmoothingRange" back to 300?
A: Set the file/files to read only

Q: It doesn't work
A: Please check "For Players Still Having Issues" and do EVERYTHING it says to do. It problems still persist, then write me something in the comments
Desync not your problem?
If Low FPS in multiplayer or singleplayer seems to be the error, I've created a guide on how to permanently solve this issue. (Click here to view!).

I don't have a "MultiplayerNPCSmoothness". The file only contains "MultiplayerNPCSmoothingRange".

It genuinely will always reset itself, Im using the cmd in the local file, and no matter what i try (read only, steam cloud off, restarting computer, reinstalling tmod) it genuinely resets itself as the server starts without fail
