Ostheer Contextual Advisor

Have you ever wanted an advisor that didn't sound overtly passionate such as the vanilla militarist voice, with it instead being more formal? Or, perhaps, you desired a vaguely German-sounding military officer for your vaguely-to-overtly Germanic empire to be advised by? Look no further!

The Ostheer Contextual Advisor mod uses the voice of Company of Heroes 2 Wehrmacht Ostheer announcer, ran through ElevenLabs[beta.elevenlabs.io] and adapted to Stellaris-specific events. This mod was wholly inspired by the original Ostheer Military Advisor mod made by Plum_Pudding71 and Cally, which I recommend if you want voicelines from the CoH 2 game.

The goal of this mod is to provide a vaguely-Germanic sounding advisor with a militarist skew - of course, you can use him for pretty much anything. He has been voiced to respond to pretty much all Stellaris events that exist in-game, with variations in what he says for quite a few of them.

You can find him labeled as "Ostheer" with the symbol you see in the mod's picture, in the advisor voice tab both in the empire creation screen and in-game.

The functionality of the voice cloning feature for ElevenLabs has made this mod possible, with a fully realistic voice backing it up. However, their AI is really tooled for US English voices only, so his accent has skewed somewhat towards a more "natural-sounding" English. However, to my ears, his German accent still exists in some form. This function of the AI stopped me from making a true-to-heart German accented advisor, which would have incorporated actual German words that didn't sound like garbage. I could probably do that in the future if tech improves for foreign languages.



Since this is a voice advisor mod and uses all new files of its own, it is technically compatible with everything. Not sure if it will be compatible with the original Ostheer advisor mod by Plum_Pudding71, though.

Since I am a 100% noob to modding of any and all sorts, I heavily relied on this thread created by the user Nelori, with an excellent answer by The Bird that allowed me to construct this mod within a day based on the Futurama Voice Mod by NotSoBraveDave. Check both Dave's mods and that thread out!
