So why pet the nekos? After all, its just a minor mechanic that isn't required to get all of the furniture.
Well, here is a simple list of why you should pet the nekos.

• Allows you to acquire the "Headpat" achievement
  
• Each neko gives you 1 heart whenever you give them a headpat. Once you do this, you have to complete an activity before they will give you another heart, but otherwise it is infinite.
  
• Petting a pet will reduces stress, so surely petting a cat girl would also reduce your stress (right?)

I make this list because, according to the steam achievements statistics at the time of writing, only 86.6% of players have the headpat achievement. Whether this is because the remaining 13.4% of players have not opened the game or the rest do not know of the mechanic I am unsure, however I have a dream that this achievement will be 100% of all players.

If you own the game already, you can go ahead and skip to the next header (you must be pretty cool btw). Now, I know what you're thinking, "But stranger on the internet, can't I just pirate this game and it will be all cool?" Well, first of all, if pirating a game not owned by EA is your first thought, you need to seek help, but second of all, it is only $1.99, that's not even 2 bucks! So just go to the steam store page and buy it.

If you have already downloaded it, you can also skip this step (I'm sure you're a cool person in this case). If you have not downloaded a steam game before though (or if it has been a while), just follow these simple steps.

1. Return to your library page
   
2. Find the Neko Nyaa~ game in your library
   
3. Find the download button on the game's page

Now that you have finished these two steps (or already had, in which case good on you), you are ready to get to the most important step of petting the nekos.

This is the most important step. After all, if you don't launch the game how are you going to pet the nekos?

So, now that you have finished downloading the game, press the Play button. It should launch Neko Nyaa~

Remember to click the Play button on the menu once it launches. If this is your first time playing the game, you will have to go through the tutorial. Do your best, you can do it! I believe in you!

Having followed all of the previous steps, you should arrive in the daycare room. Now, and read carefully because this is an important step, you must walk over to one of the nekos and LEFT click them. If you right click you will enter the customization screen, which I will admit, is pretty cool, but it is not what we are here for.

Now, you can just do a click, or you can click and hold, which will allow you to pet the neko for longer. Your stress is now relieved! Congratulations.
