Once there was a great battle here, between orcs, men, elves and a dwarf!

Alas when the great war was over, the lands turned to peace and Helms Deep fell to the toils of time.

As religion grew across the lands the cathedral of Helms Deep was built, not far after it's completion war was once again apon the lands with the burning feavour only religion could feed.

Helms Deep cathedral fell, the lands repaired from war and time passed, the lands changed but still the ruins of the cathedral at Helms Deep remained.

Until now the Helms Deep lay forgotten, until one found heavy water in it's cave..an ingredient needed in the process of make the biggest bombs of all.

Defend Helms Deep and claim the heavy water as yours!


(My first snow map, found snow tricky.)

No it isent accurate to Tolkiens drawings or the movie, but game play was better this way.

P.S When playing against AI it is more fun not to block off the ramp to the castle gate ;)

No idea how they do it either. Only the AI seems to figure it out. Seems the elevation changes fight with the engine far more than I thought.

Yeah, I also note that Close Air Support is also very hard to counter. Funny enough, if the attacking players line their tanks up just right, they can force them up the walls and into the upper sections. There are some weird physics at play. I could not get the same thing to work the other way though.

You really do need to secure the wall fast, block the stairs going up on the wall and setup several AT at the gap. I think it works best having the AT above the gap, and not on the wall it self. Tricky for sure, the spot is a blood bath.

Kinda rough that the defending players cannot deploy vehicles directly to the wall area. After a few rounds, it became clear that a tank rush to that area by the attackers almost always means victory.

Walls added to the "dirt" wall. Should be better now, couldn't shoot thru when I tested.

Yeah coh2 is buggy mess when it comes to height differences in terrain, especially terrain walls or canyons.
