JMSDF (海上自衛隊) Asahi class general purpose destroyer (あさひ型護衛艦) JS Asahi DD-119, model and texture by WTigerTw. Asahi class is the newest general purpose destroyer of the JMSDF, with JS Asahi being commissioned at 2018. Although not as powerful as the Aegis destroyer, Asahi class served as a main ASW ship for the JMSDF while still maintaining its versatile capability also in other field. It also fits with many sensor and combat system developed by Japan, such as its own AESA radar and many other electronic system. The full load of the ship is about 6,800 ton and with 32 cells of VLS to fit many ASW and AAW weapon on it.
