Sniper is the way. Headshots with a sniper rifle are often deadly even when the enemy out levels you by 40+ levels.

Village level not synched your level... my first village takedown with a sniper rifle was a level 40+ I was level 4 soldier when I started (was level 8 by the time they evacuated)... The NPC's drop gear at their own level too... but the loot from the buildings is often lower ;)

Go to a higher level village the mobs drop expensive items , loot boxes will be tailored to your level so once your higher level youll be making even more money. Also space battles later on start dropping more loot but that also level dependant , doing freelance missions gives nice cash reward too but not as much as some of the items that drop off village enemies.

use a railgun, no headshots required.
