Some back story; I first became interested in Borderlands and its sequels and spinoffs when Steam had a mega sale on the franchise with something like 80% discounts (that sale has since expired) and I decided to buy up most of the games. With a little research I found out about Shift Codes - promotional codes which the developers release in various places and at regular intervals which unlock in-game rewards - likely in an effort to keep people interested and paying attention even long after the games' releases.

Well, I am a collectoholic - I have an almost addict's response to collectibles in games and these Shift Codes tickled that part of my brain, and so the hunt began. I started scouring the web for Shift Codes, but I quickly ran into a problem - duplicates. Each website would post many of the same code - over and over and over, when what I NEEDED was just the codes I hadn't found before... I do have a BS in Computer Science but I went on to get a doctorate and now practice Optometry. Its been a LONG time since I wrote code, so instead of re-learning it all I went on Fiverr and hired a Pakistani coder for $50 to write a program for me... it works... but its still not that great. It doesn't know that lowercase codes are not different than uppercase codes and tends to store duplicates itself, but it is able to pull out any never-before-seen codes from any url you feed it... and so I fed it... as many urls as I could get from many different sources. I started out with a list of 2700 codes I'd found from the "obvious" sources like:

Now tho? I have a list of almost 6000 unique Shift Codes for all the various games which support Shift Codes. And that's where this game comes in... I found codes for this game... a lot of them... but while there are still over 2000 unique (and ACTIVE) codes for this game... they ALL only unlock two, yes just TWO, items in-game. That is - there is a many to one relationship here. MANY codes which all map to and unlock the same one item and if that item is already unlocked for your account then entering in the other 2000 codes simply does nothing more even when they will each return a cheerful "Your code was successfully redeemed!" message. In the course of my research I have personally tested each and every one of these codes and am only saving the ones which still work - each code does seem to have a limited number of activations before it gets retired and stops working... I might've reduced the life expectancy of these codes during the course of my testing or they might be "smart" enough not to count down when the activating account has the unlockable -> unlocked already, but regardless there are so many codes still active that it will be QUITE some time before you, the reader, run out of active codes to try.

That said... there is probably a way to cheat and unlock all unlockables for each game with either a trainer or Cheat Engine table or something else like that... and I probably will pursue that angle for games with rewards which are no longer obtainable... but at least for THIS game there do not appear to be any such unlockables which are no longer obtainable and thus this guide.

Just go to https://shift.gearboxsoftware.com/rewards
Create an account
Link it to your Steam/Epic/PS/XBox account
Then enter in the codes on the "Rewards" page
