The sort of ship you build at the start just to get into something. Afterwards it serves as an expendable ship for refined mining operations during the start of the game. Anything past that is just for fighter/shuttle designs, with this small thing being 199 blocks.

The Dornean gunship has a max speed of 437m/s, with maneuver rates all being above 1.0. With just 9.91 k m^3 it is almost weightless and will move slightly when firing your turrets. Look at this thing wrong, and it'll go flying across half the galaxy.
