Chapter Layout Modified

First huge thank to Akooma for the Original Chapter lay out guide, and V.Marceline for IXION planner

I made my own layout based on the original chapter guide, with the a bit more symmetry (I know, I know, I got problems (T-T) ), and the memorials more centrally located

Please reference the original guide for progression.

Biggest change is the 3rd steel mill, it will speed up your progress quiet a bit.

Also, here's some random stuff I found.

In term of research, you really want to do everything you can to unlock all the Tech lab related upgrades, you will not be stuck on the tech tree after you get 5 tech point / 3 cycle.

In chapter 2,
you want to move Tiqunn to the southern most planet Plymouth 37 to get resources behind the lighting storm without destroying all ur ships, I learn it the hard way.
You will want to move the Tiqunn up to Deville 59 before attempting to dock to Protagoras to minimize ice damage

In chapter 3,
The storm movement are trigger by progress of science event, so make sure you recall ur ships whenever you are about to progress, that storm will cover your side of the map and kill all ur ships, upgraded or not.

In chapter 4,
you are gonna want to dial that power plant all the way up for fast charging, and 2nd prob launcher. you also need to dismantle your prob before you and build countermeasure

Section 1, Space
you only need 7 space building to get the specialization bonus

Memorials helps a lot later in the game

This is the main cargo intake sector in early and mid game, drone bay will speed things up

later on you can remove the cryo center and build them in your population spec sector, and get more room for batteries

Early game

mid - late game after u get ur population sector ready
Section 2, Food
Crops farm will produce more waste, this is really a comprimise.
Also, you can remove the fusion station after you get water treatment

it is absolutely critical to have at least 3 food stock pile to collect food effectively, and have drone bay to distribute late game, people will starve if u got over 3000 people and don't got drones

version with more batteries, more pop, less storage
Section 6, Industry
3rd steelmill is very much needed

a early waste recycling plant if you unlock it early, remove later

full version with more storage

when you finally got steel mill upgrades and repair efficiency upgrades, you will have more steel than u need
get a drone bay for better distribution, move your resource and get more batteries

Section 5, Recycling + Early colonization + Storage
you will get around 1000 more pods in chapter 2
you need to house that many people here

mid- late game

more batteries, more storage, move ur useless non-workers to sec 3

Sector 3, Population
move your cryo + population+ colony building here
docking bay for pods + ice running

Sector 4, Powerplant + Storage
Trust me, you need that power plant + at least 1400 unit of hydrogen to charge ur batteries fast, u also need a 2nd prob if u dont have any prob upgrade

and, of course, when u need all the batteries in the world, burn down ur resource, and here's room for batteries

@Bubonpioche I eventually figured it out. Then I figured out that they needed to be upgraded too. XD

@Jellydrake It's been a while since I played the game but if I remember correctly it's an algae farm upgrades/extention you can build by selecting the algae farm first. So you build an algae farm on the side of the road then build the upgrade where there is no road.

The algae farms, how are you stacking them that way without roads?

Dr Soviet, the text faces the way it is to give people an indication as to which direction the buildings should face.

I would drop fire station from every sector. I've never seen a more worthless building. Even on the highest difficulty, fires are such a non-issue. They are rare, easily avoidable, and if you do get them, just queue destruction in their neighboring buildings to stop it from spreading.

According to the in game tool-tip the fusion station is necessary to store the water produced by the treatment plant.

I've been using others layouts to help me figure out a way to specialize sections. Once I'm more used to the buildings, I think I'll be okay. Thank you very much for the help! :cozybethesda:

any advice on what to put in each storage ?
Dr. Soviet 30 Jul, 2023 @ 9:19pm
For the love of god, please make all text face same way up. Excellent guide otherwise.

well, thanks for all of you that used my guide.
It really isn't optimized, but it worked for the most part.
and for sector 3 please replace one of the stock pile with a workshop, I had a brain fart when I shove it in the simulator.

again, highly recommend the original guide and the planner in the link on top
This is a great game, hope u all enjoy

PS: one more tip, you really wanna have at least 2 infirmary early game, and leave some space for 1 additional one to be build as required, especially after u get factories, I got real shit luck and had 2 steel mill accident in a row with >40 injured
