Just a basic guide to help with getting used to the game I may add more in the future as I myself reacquaint with this old friend. Enjoy!
Basic Combat Controls


Attacker Controls These can be changed in the menu.



Defender Controls These can be changed in the menu.
Buildings


Troop and hero recruitment

Armory: 15,000 gp
Cleric Temple: Cost 12,000 gp
Wizards Tower: 10,000 gp

Fortification

Keep: Cost 7,500 gp
Castle: Cost Variable
Small Castle 20,000 gp
Medium Castle 30,000 gp
Large Castle 40,000 gp
XLarge Castle 50,000 gp

Upgrading castles in size cost slightly more in total than the original price.
Heroes & Quests


Quests provide experience and magic items.
Heroes can only have one magic item.
Special magic items will go to the vault.
Expect and plan on casualties.

Veteran's Quest:
Recommended Level 1-5

Noble Quest:
Recommended Level 6-10

Daring Quest:
Recommended Level 11-15

Dangerous Quest:
Recommended Level 16-20

Forbidding Quest:
Recommended Level 21-25
Recruits


Certain Troops can only be recruited based on the territory and certain heroes require specific buildings.

Recruiting 1 unit equals 20 troops. One armory allows for 3 units types to be trained while 2 armories would allow for 6 etc.
I.E. paying for two regular Fighter Units and A (Gold Text) Fighter Hero will fill the 3 slots of an armory and give you 40 Fighters and one Fighter Hero

Fighter: 500 gp 1 turns

Elf: 2000 gp 2 turns

Dwarf: 600 gp 1 turn

Orc: 550 gp 1 turn

Shadow Elf: 1500 gp 2 turns

Halfling: 400 gp 1 turn

Battering Ram: 1000 gp 2 turns

Ballista: 750 gp 3 turns

Catapult: 2500 gp 4 turns

Dwarf: (Gold Hero) 600 gp 3 turns

Elf: (Gold Hero) 750 gp 3 turns

Fighter: (Gold Hero) 500 gp 3 turns

Cleric: (Gold Hero) 900 gp 4 turns

Magic User: (Gold Hero) 1000 gp 4 turns

Druid: (Gold Hero) ?
Movement


Movement can be into occupied territories (going to war) or unoccupied territories (claiming land) while claiming land expect some troop losses. If you don't send enough troops you may find that what you have sent are lost and that the land remains unclaimed 100 troops should be more than enough.
Banner


The banner can be changed to show different info regarding your territories on the world map.

Buildings, Troops, Heroes, Etc.

The Orbs in the top right and left corners will fill up with magic power over time Green and Red.

Animate Dead: Red
