DVI 1600ALD

The DVI 1600 is a basic ship with an interesting story. Originally slated for released in 2064, the ship was delayed a year because DVI's marketing department couldn't think of a single thing to say about it. For a while, it seemed to be so basic that it would be unmarketable. Eventually, a very simple ad campaign was produced, consisting of diagrams of the 1600 next to basic cargo and flight stats. Dust Valley execs were positive that sales outside their homeworld of Pertam would be abysmal; and yet, by the end of 2065, more 1600s had been sold in the Mira Sector than any other ship in its segment. 46 years later, these light-duty planetary models are among the cheapest and most common running vessels on the market.
