Choosing an Outpost
First off make sure you have enough Synthite to buy a new Burial Site.

Getting Synthite is most easily done by raiding other people's outposts. Some tips to accelerate your raiding gains:

- USE THE PROTA TIER III BOOST, cannot stress this enough. This boost will have you drowning in Synthite. I have gotten upwards of 350 Synthite from one raid with this boost turned on.

- Use the Prosarmogi's tier III boost as well optionally to scout out good bases, you can see what traps are most common in order to avoid dealing with stuff you find annoying.

- Sometimes its worth it to die a couple times in order to try breaking traps again for a chance at more Synthite drops

- Go for Burial Tombs, most people leave them outside of the main base completely exposed and free

Once you have plenty of Synthite, you can then buy a Burial Site. These sites are randomly generated every 24hrs and have a few stats you need to pay attention to.

CAPACITY: Refers to how many blocks and traps you can place in a base before you max it out, there are a few different limits, but all you need to know is that bases come in three main sizes, the main difference between them is how big of an area you get to build in and how many secret tombs they have in them.

Small maps have a small capacity and only one tomb

Medium maps have a moderate to large capacity and two tombs

Large maps have the maximum possible capacity and size for a map and have three tombs

GENMAT: Arguably more important than capacity and size. This stat is on the bottom and the only bases you should ever buy are ones that have 9,000. This number directly correlates to how long the base will be active for. Every base has 10 prestige levels, and each time it is prestiged the genmat is reset back to 9000, which equates to 24hrs of straight active time. 10x24 is 240, meaning you get 240 hours of time for people to potentially raid the base.

Some folks have had a hard time keeping up with the Synthite cost of building and I solely believe it is because they are buying bases that need to be reactivated every 6-12 hrs vs buying the outposts that have 24 hrs of time.

So simply choose an outpost that has your desired genmat type. You get 5 active slots for outposts so I try to always have one of each advisor type. Make sure it has 9000 genmat, and buy it. Now you can start building!
Building the Outpost
I am not going to sit here and lecture you on exactly where to place traps and what combos are good at killing people. This is something you will pick up with time and will learn from raiding other people's outposts.

However I will tell you my secret for quickly and easily designing unique bases that people enjoy playing and consistently leave accolades for.

I start by loading up build mode, then press tab to open up the build item menu and hold X to clear all pre placed blocks. Just a personal preference of mine to start with a clean slate.

Then I locate all of the burial tombs, I typically make medium or large maps so I will mark each burial tomb with a light or some decals to remember their location.

Then I go through and make the harvester's path from the start of the map to the genmat at the end. While doing this I design the path to take the player directly to each of the burial tombs. Since the burial tomb locations are randomly generated I end up with a unique path from A to B every time I do this.

Then I go back through and close in the pathway, decorate, and start adding my traps as usual. Incorporating the burial tombs as part of the base makes people FAR more likely to accolade your base, it also encourages you to become more creative.

Things I try to avoid doing:

- Overkill rooms with a billion traps, it's okay to focus clusters of traps on a few key chokepoints but loading up dozens of traps in the same room just makes people want to quit playing, you both get nothing if the person rage quits before really giving your outpost a try.

- Using 1x1 hallways for the entire map just makes your base feel the same as every other newbie base, I think having a couple smaller but more open rooms connected by shorter hallways makes for a much more fun and memorable map

- Frontloading traps on the first wave can be okay, but a lot of players I see will simply place 100 traps on the way to the genmat only to have the walk out be a spring breeze. I understand its easy to forget to add the second wave mod to your traps, but it can be the difference between getting 2-3 kills and 10+
Upkeeping Multiple Outposts
So in the end you should aim to have all 5 outposts active that are all 9000 capacity and getting some decent traffic.

Now how do you keep up with keeping them all active?

Well in my experience the absolute best thing you can do is make sure to have one of each type of genmat type on the outposts. That way when you log on for the day, more often than not you will have 5 advisors ready for processing to get that hefty Chimera bonus.

And like I said before, use the Prota tier III boost to make gaining Synthite much easier while raiding!
