Introduction
Infernium, a non-linear survival horror approach to Pac-Man. This guide will contain a walkthrough of how to beat the game, as well as other useful information.

Be aware that this guide will contain potential spoilers, there’s a chance that it might ruin the fun and mysteriousness of the game since several important parts will be revealed.

If you need additional help and information, check the official wiki[infernium.fandom.com] page.
Basic Controls and Information
You play as Marina, along the way you will see logs and messages that Marina has written that explains the lore of the game. To read all of the messages, see this wiki page[infernium.fandom.com].

Harvesting Fingers
On Marina’s right hand there is initially one Harvesting Finger. Throughout the game, the mission is to collect additional four Harvesting Fingers, which are used to store light. Light orbs are distributed around the areas on the maps. Harvesting Fingers are used to open up barriers in certain areas to be able to progress in game, and need to be fully charged in order to do so. If the Harvesting Finger is full, do not harvest more light as it will be wasted since light orbs do not respawn. Use the Left Mouse button to unlock barriers and to harvest light.

Dash
Dashing is a way to teleport and is done with Marina’s right hand. To dash, aim where you want to go while holding the Right Mouse button, a ray of light will appear with a circle on the end. If the circle is red it means you can’t dash to that location, it’s either too far away or an invalid spot. If the circle turns the same color as the lightray it means you can dash to that spot. It’s only possible to dash to certain distances and onto flat surfaces.

Skills
Marina’s left hand is used for skills, such as Flashlight, Compass, and the Circle Alarm. These are needed to progress the game. Use the Ctrl button to use them.

Checkpoints
Checkpoints look like Fire Cairn. When you see a checkpoint, you can only activate one at a time, meaning when you die you will spawn back to the checkpoint that is activated.

Light Pits and opportunities
In some places you will find Light Pits, those show the amount of opportunities you have out of a total of 25. You can refill one at a time with one full Harvesting Finger. If all opportunities are gone without refilling it before the last one shatters, it will result in permadeath meaning you can’t spawn back to a checkpoint and proceed with the game. However there are ways to get around permadeath.

Respawns
Everytime you die you end up in the Purgatory. As you spawn there after death you will see the 25 big spheres of light where each represents an opportunity, when you lose one the light shatters and it turns empty. From there you can respawn to the latest activated checkpoint.

Red Ash
The Red Ash that is seen in some places prohibits the enemies from crossing it. This can be used as good tactics against the enemies for safety.

Barriers on each level
The big barrier with black dust/specs that you go through in some maps/levels resets the enemies positions, meaning if you have lured enemies to stop at an area that’s not where they first were placed at, and go through that barrier, they will go back to where they originally were. This can be used as a good tactic.

Harvested lights
When you die you can recollect the lights that you have harvested in the same spot where you died. If you exit the game however, you will forever lose the harvested light so be mindful of when you feel like quitting the session so you don’t exit while having fully charged Harvesting Fingers.
Enemies
The Cloaks
Crimson Cloak
Most common and easiest Cloak to deal with as they walk slowly.

Blue Cloak
They are just like Crimson Cloaks but walk a little bit faster.

Ghost Cloak
They walk as fast as Blue Cloaks however they walk through walls. They can be found in some Ritual Arena Challenges.

Dark Cloak
The most dangerous Cloak as they walk faster than the player.
Light Entities
Walkers
Neutral enemies. White in color with gray highlights who patrol areas. They will not attack or run after you, but you will die if you touch them or if they walk into you.

Light Foes
White in color with blue highlights, will run and attack if they see you. These can be killed with the Flashlight skill.

Exploders
Orange in color. When they see you, they will run towards you and explode, causing death. Make sure to either dash away to safety or run as they’re exploding to avoid getting killed.
Invisible Entities

Hellhound
Also called Cerberus, an invisible multi-headed dog that you will encounter at the very beginning in Edge Fortress. If you release it, it will end up in Crimson River in mid/late game.

Rain Foes
Can be seen in the rain. Walk as fast as a Crimson Cloak.

Water Foes
Can be seen by ripples in places where ground is covered in water. Walk as fast as Crimson Cloaks.
Edge Fortress
Make your way to the bridge where the first Crimson Cloak is located, lure it around to cross the bridge and pull the lever that’s behind the door to the right, to close it. Before crossing the second bridge, turn right and make your way back to the first tower to open the shortcut door that was next to the elevator.

Next you will meet Cerberus (invisible three-headed barking dog). Turn left to go up the stairs, ignore the Blue Cloak. Here you will have two choices:

  1. Pull the lever to open the gate and free Cerberus (It will later re-appear in Crimson River).

  2. Do not pull the lever and instead dash through the far left banner with a script that’s on the wall. You will end up above the gate and can continue by dashing down. This will grant the achievement: Goodbye - Exit the first castle without liberating the dog.

Memorandum
Light up the Fire Cairn for the achievement: The Wanderer - Light your first checkpoint.

From here you can either go to the Silent Catacombs (below Memorandum) to get a Harvesting Finger and the Flashlight skill, or go to the Floating Castle (to the right of Memorandum) to get the Triangle Tattoo, a Harvesting Finger and the Longer Dash skill.

It doesn’t matter where you go first since both of those Harvesting Fingers and the skills need to be acquired, however it’s better to go for the Floating Castle first to get the Longer Dash and Triangle Tattoo (which is needed to open up barriers that have a triangle next to it).

Below Memorandum, there will be the Circle Tattoo which sends out music beats to alarm that there’s an enemy nearby. You need two Harvesting Fingers to open the barrier, meaning this skill can be acquired after finishing either Floating Castle or Silent Catacombs. After you get the skill you will unlock the achievement: The Alarm - Get the circular tattoo.
Floating Castle
To reach the Floating Castle, either jump down in one of the pits on Memorandum to get to the other side, or unlock the barrier that leads to the very long flight of stairs, dash down to the pillar and into the opening (see figure).
A Crimson Cloak will be there so lure it around and go to where it was standing and dash over the gap to the other side. Turn right, left, turn right again and go straight ahead until you see two closed doors and one barrier. Open up all three of them for future convenience. The door to the left leads to Silent Catacombs (blue lightning), the opening that’s right ahead will take you to Floating Castle.
As you proceed into the Floating Castle you will come across a big gate, on the right side of the staircase there’s a barrier with a triangle symbol on it, remember this barrier as you will need to unlock it later so you can leave the castle. Go to the left side of that gate, as the right side consists of a hallway with a Crimson Cloak who guards some light orbs.

Complete the first Ritual Arena challenge by matching the ritual numbers that’s on the wall to the number that’s displayed on the fire pit on the floor. Complete the ritual by activating the fire pit that’s in the middle of the room. This will unlock the barrier that takes you into the next room.

Proceed by either;
  1. Opening the small door before going into the room with the big gate. Unlock the barrier with a fully charged Harvesting finger and turn right to follow the corridor.

  2. Dashing through the small window if you want to save your lights, it will take you to the same spot.
As you follow the corridor you will find a checkpoint, activate it in case you die, before doing anything else. There are no enemies there so go straight ahead. Next to the checkpoint there is an elevator. The goal in general is to use elevators to go all the way up in the castle. Here you have again two choices;
  1. Open the big gate where there’s a Crimson Cloak waiting inside a Ritual Arena. Solve the ritual challenge to unlock the barrier and proceed to an elevator that will take you up.

  2. Take the elevator that’s next to the checkpoint to get to the same place without having to deal with the ritual challenge.
Find the Blue Cloak and lure it around the hallways to get to the next elevator that’s inside the room Blue Cloak was standing in front of.

Up at the elevator, ignore the Crimson Cloak who’s in a room with some light orbs and go to the left and follow the hallway. You will arrive at a wall with drawings, that room has a Crimson cloak and another Ritual Arena that needs to be beaten in order to unlock a barrier that is blocking the next elevator. If you go to the right before starting the challenge you can open up the two closed doors for future convenience. Complete the challenge to proceed.

The elevator to the left can later be used as a shortcut if you ever need to come back. Enter the gate to complete yet another Ritual Arena. In there you are going to deal with both a Crimson Cloak and a Blue Cloak. Start with the fire pit that’s on the Crimson Cloak’s side before going for the fire pit that’s next to the Blue Cloak. Use dash to easily create a distance between you and the Cloaks.
Rain Bridge

At the start of the Rain Bridge you will find a room with a Fire Cairn in the middle, two rooms with Light Pits whereas the right one has a Crimson Cloak in it, all are blocked by a barrier, which needs the Triangle Tattoo in order to unlock it. The room is guarded by three Blue Cloaks.

The Triangle Tattoo can be found in the “balcony” behind the Blue Cloak with red lining. Simply dash to either opening to the balcony, it won’t trigger any of the Cloaks. This will unlock the achievement: Pitagoras - Get the Triangle tattoo.

Unlock the triangle barrier that’s on the wall right in front of the Fire Cairn and secure the checkpoint in case you die. if you happen to trigger any cloaks, just go behind the Red Ash to bait them and stay until they stop pursuing you, they will stay there. If you want to reset their positions, just go back to walk through the black dust/specs. The rooms to the left that is locked behind two barriers with two Harvesting Fingers contains light orbs and is guarded by Blue Cloaks.

After walking through the gate you will find your first invisible enemy Rain Foe on the bridge, which can only be seen in the rain. Lure it inside but focus on how close it gets to you since you won’t be able to see it indoors, bait it around the wall and make your way across the bridge. Close the door by pulling the second lever. Make your way across the next bridge but be aware of a second Rain Foe that is standing right at the entrance, lure it back to the room you came from and cross the bridge. Make your way into safety behind the Red Ash.
Plains
Plains has Rain Foes all over the place and has another Ritual Arena Challenge, in order to see them and make it easier, walk only where you see footsteps on the snow. Make your way to a blue lever that will make it rain. There’s a timer of approximately 1,5 minutes until the lever goes back and it stops raining. Complete the ritual in order to unlock the elevator.

Tip: for the Rain Foe that seems to be standing really close to one of the fire pits, you don’t need to trigger it, just get close to the fire pit but still far enough for not triggering the Rain Foe and you’ll be able to change the ritual numbers.

As you get up the elevator you will find the Long Dash skill. Dash your way over the floating rocks to get to a lever that will bring up another elevator so you can go back down. Beware of the Dark Cloak.

If you get curious to know what’s on the other end of the floating rocks, it’s the entrance to Crimson River which is inaccessible at this point since it needs three Harvesting Fingers to get through.

Go back down to the end of Rain Bridge, now with the Longer Dash, you can dash to the other side that has green lightning. There you need to complete the Green Hallways Ritual Arena in order to get your second Harvesting Finger. Be aware that the enemy is a Ghost Cloak that can walk through walls. After completing the ritual you can unlock the second Harvesting Finger and the achievement: Ghost - Get the harvesting finger in the Rain Bridge.

If you instead dash down the pit you will find short hallways that have some light orbs all around, but there’s another Ghost Cloak there hiding inside the wall. Right ahead you will see Red Ash and some stairs that lead back to the gate for the Green Hallways and that Rain Foe that is hiding indoors (be careful not to walk into it, stay close to the left wall).

To leave without having to deal with the same Rain Foes, dash through the window. Now you can leave the Floating Castle and unlock whatever needs to be unlocked with the Triangle Tattoo and two Harvesting Fingers.
Use the elevators as a shortcut. To leave the castle, either go through that room that you saw at the start with a Crimson Cloak next to big light orbs, or dash down into the little pit with the wooden bars so it takes you here (see figure).
Silent Catacombs
Entrance to Silent Catacombs is to the left;
Dash all the way down to the bridge, be careful of the Water Foe that’s below the bridge. To proceed, dash to the cave opening right in front of you that’s lit. The opening to the left just leads you back to where you came from, the opening to the right is a loop that has light orbs and is guarded by a Crimson Cloak.

Jump down onto the stairs and go up, there are no enemies there to worry about. Turn left and dash to the other side of the opening you see, do not jump down that opening as there’s an enclosed room with a Blue Cloak. Instead jump down the next opening where you see a lever, pull it to open the walls. On one end you see a big closed door, on the other you will see a lever. Before pulling the lever, dash to the ceiling above you and walk over to the checkpoint to activate it, there’s a Crimson Cloak to watch out for (see figure).
Pull the lever and make your way through the door, use dash. You will find yourself in hallways with webs and a Light Pit right ahead, however there’s a Crimson Cloak right to the left so either go straight or go right. On the left side of the hallways you will find an opening on one of the walls that’s lit up with a blue color, dash in there and proceed to jump down into the water.

Before going onto the next challenge, find this spot and dash to unlock the Harvesting Finger. This will take you back to the checkpoint and serves as a shortcut in case you die (see figure).
Bait the Crimson Cloak, pull the lever and release it when it’s close enough, make your way to the door that’s on the other side. Now you’re at the connection that’s between Wet Cave and the Descent.

This area has 3 Crimson Cloaks and one Blue Cloak, you do not need to go through the door that the Blue Cloak is guarding since it will just take you back to the hallways with the webs. To get to the Wet Cave you need to get through the big gate that’s on the other side.

Tip: There’s a safe spot where you can dash to get back up in case of emergency, this is close to the left Crimson Cloak, two walls in where there are candles on the ground leading to the Blue Cloak.

To get to the big gate you only have to deal with one Crimson Cloak which is relevantly easy. Dash past the Crimson Cloak that’s in front of the gate and go right away behind the red ash as there’s another Cloak to the left of that gate. Before proceeding, open the door to the left in the figure below as a shortcut, so you don’t have to deal with that again.
For the Blue cloak at the end, bait him to the right side of the red ash so you can safely get across
Wet Cave
This is where you acquire the Flashlight which will unlock the achievement: Lightbringer - Get the skill to cast light into the environment.

This skill works as a flashlight but can also unlock Blue Barriers and can also kill Light Foes.

Now you have two ways in order to get to your third Harvesting Finger.
Either you:
  1. Open the blue barrier that’s on the right. Deal with the Blue Cloaks and Red Ash to open up all the doors that are closed in the hallway, and to open the last door that leads to the Waterfall Arena.

  2. Skip step 1 and open up the blue barrier on the left instead. Find the light orbs that are next to an opening that’s lit up. Unlock the Blue Barrier and dash into the small room, open up the orange barrier that leads back to where the Flashlight skill was. Follow the candles that’s on the ground. You’ll see Red Ash that looks like swirl and a Blue Cloak, the closed door right of Blue Cloak will lead to the same place that’s behind the Blue Barrier, the red barrier right of the Blue Cloak will lead to the big place where you end up in, if you went ahead with step 1. Ignore the Blue Cloak for now and unlock the Blue Barrier. Watch out for another Blue Cloak that will be to your right. You’ve made it to the Waterfall Arena.

If you went to Floating Castle/Plains before this map, it means you have the Longer Dash. This is very lucky since you don’t need to deal with the arena challenge or the Dark and Crimson Cloak. Simply go to the left and dash to get the third Harvesting Finger. This grants the achievement: Ashes - Get the harvesting finger in the waterfall. Above where you came from there’s a checkpoint.

Go back to the small opening you dashed into in step 2 (where there’s a Light Pit). Pull the lever on the wall - this will bring down an elevator. This elevator takes you back to Edge Fortress!

Tip: Use this circled Red Ash to get the Blue Cloaks out of the way.
Crimson River
Next map to tackle is Crimson River. I went ahead with this first since I think it’s better, because Waterfall (even if that’s where you end up after finishing Wet cave) is connected to Darkness (so is Crimson River but going that way is a lot harder) so I felt like it’s best if I take those at the end.

Make your way to Floating Castle, use the shortcuts by taking the elevators all the way up. Dash through the windows on Rain Bridge and make your way up to the floating rocks on Plains. Dash all the way to the end to get to Crimson River, you need three fully charged Harvesting fingers to unlock the barrier. As you go up the elevator you will unlock the achievement: Upside Down - Use the largest elevator in Infernium.

In Crimson River the goal is to get the Fourth Harvesting Finger which you will see is blocked behind three barriers. You need to find three Triangle symbols and unlock them in order to get through. Before you start make sure to activate the checkpoint.

Enemies
Crimson River is filled with Exploders. They are easy to deal with, all you need to do is get decently close so they see you to trigger them and dash really quickly to another rock. They will explode, but if you’re too close it will kill you so back up as much as you can. Later when you reach the place that looks like a maze, all you need to do is just to run away from them until they explode and disappear (this is also where you will find Cerberus if you freed it at the beginning, watch out for it).

  • First triangle is at the back, on the right side of the map, next to a cherry tree. Dash your way there to unlock it.

  • Second triangle is on the left side of the map, where you first came. There are walls surrounding it and there’s a Walker and a Crimson Cloak. Approach it from the front, the triangle symbol is right in front of the Crimson Cloak, you can unlock it without triggering Crimson Cloak, just keep an eye on the Walker so it doesn’t walk into you.

  • The Third Triangle is at the end of the maze that’s all the way at the front. Get rid of the Exploders by triggering them and make your way out of the maze, keep to the right side of the maze to get out of it.
Now you can get back to get the fourth Harvesting Finger, this will unlock the achievement: MDoom - Get the harvesting finger in the Crimson River.
Waterfall
The main goal of the Waterfall map is to get the Compass skill to be able to dash through one of the paintings on the small islands, one of them will lead you to the Darkness map, the compass will help you find the painting by pointing towards it.

To get to Waterfall, you need to go back to Edge Fortress. Dash to the little building where there’s a walker and continue to the little islands with Crimson Cloaks and Walkers.
First go to the tower that’s to the right, on the edge of the waterfall. On top of that building there will be the Compass skill, this will unlock the achievement: Compass - Get the guiding light.

Pull the orange lever that looks like a flower and find the correct painting. You’ll soon enter a room with many paintings on the wall, accompanied by a Crimson Cloak and a Walker. Pull the lever, find the painting and get help from the compass by clicking on the Ctrl button.

You’ll dash down to a cave and find a Walker and some Light Foes and a Light Pit. Let the Light Foes stay behind the blue barriers. Pull the lever to open the closed door and activate the checkpoint that you see. Go up the stairs and pull the flower lever, this will activate the paintings that are on the islands. Use the compass to guide you to the correct island that has the painting you need to dash through. It will be on an island where you have no choice but to trigger the Crimson Cloak that’s on it. Use dash to create a distance between you and the Crimson Cloak so you can have enough time to dash through the painting. You will dash down into a cave that contains a big circular elevator that travels downwards.
This cave can be accessed from the start of the Waterfall, on the little island way to the left, however there’s no way to get up to pull the lever since there’s a locked door.

As you travel down the elevator, you’ll find a closed door, in order to open that door you need go down through the cave instead. Let the elevator stay below while you’re still all the way up. Dash down to the opening with a lit candle next to it (see figure).
Make your way through it by killing the Light Foes until you come across a Crimson Cloak. Bait it back to the door you passed earlier (make sure it’s open first) dash outside of that opening to make the Crimson Cloak stay there so you can continue with exploring the cave stress-free without worrying about it (you need to get up the elevator and go back from the start after doing that).

Eventually you’ll drop down to a checkpoint, this will unlock the achievement: Enough Of This S - Emerge from the darkness.

Now you can open that door that’s locked that leads to where the elevator lands.
Darkness
There are two ways to get to the Darkness map, either through the building that’s all the way at the back of Crimson River, that way can be a bit more challenging since you will face several Cloaks, Light Foes, and Walkers. You’ll get right into a Ritual Arena challenge that needs to be beaten in order to be able to call an elevator that will take you up to the Darkness map.

The other way to get there is via the Waterfall, which is a lot easier. I’ll describe here how to get the fifth and last Harvesting Finger via Waterfall. There are 3 extremely easy steps to do here;
  1. There are two Water Foes, identify their positions by looking at the water ripples. Bait them to the elevator or the lever by dashing up there, they won’t get to you and will stay there.

  2. Kill all the Light Foes.

  3. Pull the lever, dash to get the Harvesting Finger.

This will unlock the achievement: Slippery Challenge - Get the harvesting finger in the underground lake.
The Descent
I think it’s best to wait to get to The Descent after having all the skills to make it easier. To get to The Descent, you need to go via Silent Catacombs. See this video on how to get there:
As you go down the stairs you will unlock the achievement: The Descent - Discover the stairway in the dark.

The first thing you’ll see is a Ritual Arena with a Crimson Cloak. If you don’t have the Triangle Tattoo yet, you need to solve the ritual in order to unlock the barrier to get through. Otherwise go ahead and skip it. Next you’ll find this “pillar” in the middle, you’ll see that you’re able to dash up to it. There’s an Exploder there next to an elevator, the elevator will take you down to the other side where there’s another exploder waiting. Now if you got here before achieving the longer dash, taking this way is necessary since the gap between the stairs are too far from each other. However if you have the Longer Dash, simply dash to the stairs.

Next you’ll find another Ritual Arena challenge with a Ghost Cloak. This will unlock the barrier that’s on the other side. However, if you at this point have the Compass skill, you don’t need to do the challenge. Go to where the barrier is and dash into the opening that’s next to it. On the wall there are three paintings, pull the flower lever and dash into the correct painting. Now you’re behind the orange barrier and the road will lead you to The Sun, where there are infinite light orbs. As you get there you will unlock the achievement: The Garden - Find the infinite harvesting light garden. There’s a Light pit there.

Back to the room with the three paintings, if you go down the stairs you can call up an elevator, watch out as there’s a Crimson Cloak standing on it. Going down the elevator there’s a barrier where you need four full Harvesting Fingers to unlock. Kill the Light Foes, and dash into the dark room. You will find yourself in a small room with banners all over. Keep it dark and dash into the banner that you can see without the flashlight. This way will lead you to Purgatory.
Heaven
Heaven can only be accessible during the end game and is located in front of Memorandum. Throughout the gameplay you can always go up and unlock the barriers whenever you get a new Harvesting Finger. The last barrier requires five fully charged Harvesting Fingers to unlock.

The achievements you unlock here are:
Midway - Reach half of the stairway and Stairway To Heaven - Reach the top of the stairway.

The Ritual Arena challenge in Heaven is the most difficult one to beat since you deal with one Blue Cloak, two Crimson Cloak, one Dark Cloak, two Light Foes and two walkers. If you have trouble beating it, watch and follow this tutorial:

If you complete this challenge without any opportunities left you will unlock: The Pro - Complete the final challenge without any opportunities remaining.

In order to do so, you must in advance have unlocked all the paths that connects to the Purgatory (Purgatory > The Descent > Silent Catacombs > Memorandum)
Conclusion
Thank you for reading this guide, I hope it was helpful!
