The tabs are self-explanatory, but following this is information concerning Photo, Name, Level, Standard and PSR, which takes some deciphering.
Click the link below for details:

The Photo defaults to your current avatar, but can be set to a selection of clips from a limited collection or you can upload your own photo. This is done in the Steam application, not in the HD Poker app.

The Name (mine is [TNT]Quasar) is set during application setup, but can be changed (for 1000 gems) in General Settings. You can also make a request for a colour change to your name (as I have) in General Inquiries, under the Help tab. Some names are prefixed with square brackets (such as [TNT] or [NRNB]. This indicates a Clan membership with chat interactions under Discord.

The badge, if you achieve one, can be from bronze to diamond. This denotes your achievements, as taken from the drop-down list. Chip multipliers and store discounts can be gained.

The Experience Level (XP) indicator starts at 1 and goes to a maximum of 70. It goes up according to the number of hands that you play and the chips that you win. If you hover over it, the XP Progression will be shown. This shows the points gained and the points needed for the next progression. XP boosts can be awarded as part of a chest. These can be used to doubly accelerate the XP Progression for 1 hour.

The Standard indicator shows your Rank according to the PSR. This ranges from Bronze, up to Grand Master and can go up and down as your PSR changes.

The last indicator is the PSR or Poker Skill Rating.
For a Standard game, this goes up or down according to the percentage of chips won or lost, compared to the initial maximum stake, during each hand. Unfortunately, more points are deducted than awarded, for the same stake. This means you must win more than you lose for your points to go up. A win and a loss of the same amount will see your points go down.
For Tournaments and Sit & Go, points are awarded or deducted according to how far you progressed. Players with a high PSR (Top 100 especially) will receive less points for a win than a lower ranked player and will also be deducted more for an early loss. See example below:

For Time Bomb, it is unaffected.
Periodically the PSR is shrunk for everybody. If you do not play much during any week, your PSR will be reduced.

On the top right is further information regarding Chips, Gems and Tickets.

On the top of the panel is the amount of Chips that you own. This goes up or down according to the chips won/lost during a hand or awarded after a tournament, sit & go or time bomb. Every week (Sunday at 7:00pm GMT), an amount of chips is awarded based on your rank. Every day, a million chips can be claimed from the Store. Chips are given as part of a chest. Chips cannot be given away or traded.
On the bottom-left of the panel is the number of Gems that you own. Every week, a number of gems is awarded based on your rank. Gems may be given as part of a chest. Gems can be given away or traded.
On the bottom-right of the panel is the number of Tickets that you own. These can be used on the Super Mega Wheel. Tickets may be given as part of a chest. Tickets can be given away or traded.
Chips, Gems and Tickets can be bought for cash at the Store.

Under that is further information regarding the Streak Bonus.
https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/2046366730904423757/CE1D171F500DCAFB7500EF02C6B59452309CDD70/?imw=256&&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false
The Streak Bonus can be collected every 4 hours. The first 3 bonuses are relatively small, but the 4th can be quite large. The 5th bonus is a small chest.

By visiting the store regularly, you can claim the Store Bonus.
The bonus is close to the bottom of the drop-down list. The bonus is initially 1 million chips, but can be increased according to the VIP status. Bronze, for instance, gives 2.2 million. The frequency of availability seems to be random, anything between 7 and 24 hours

Jackpots are awarded in 3 categories: Royal Jackpot, Bad-Beat Jackpot and Four-Hour Drop.
These jackpots are available in Standard games only. They are not awarded in MTTs TBs or S&Gs.

Chatting
To chat, press the <Enter> key, followed by your message and a further press of the <Enter> key. Messages are displayed on the bottom-left of the screen. When chatting during a game, your message is also displayed alongside your avatar.

Trading
You can trade at any level for most items. However, you must be at least level 15 in order to trade gems specifically. Although you can bypass this by making a cash purchase in the store at any time.
You must first be accepted as a friend of the person you are dealing with. Trading is usually initiated from messages received or advertised on the bottom-left of the Home screen. Go to the Friends tab and click on the Direct Messaging (DM) icon next to the friend you wish to trade with. Agree on a price (you can trade in gems, tokens, chests, avatars, rooms, or anything else in your Collection). 10% of gems traded are levied on any deal. Chips cannot be traded. Traders often refer to Legendary Chests as Legs, or even L.

Tactics
Everybody plays poker differently. The tactics below are what I utilise and may not necessarily suit your gameplay.
Poker is a game, mostly of skill, but partly of luck. You cannot expect to win a game every time, but over a period, the skilful player will eventually overcome the opposition.

Going all-in every time is considered to be playing “Bingo.” It is frowned upon and will not succeed in the long run.

What initial hand should you consider is worth betting on? I consider that an unsuited K-10 or A-8 would be the minimum that I would go in for if there are several people at the table. Lower combinations of suited cards would also be considered. Almost any double is worth trying. Whatever initial hands you consider worth betting on, sticking to those principles rather than your determination will normally prevail.

After that, you need to suss out if you opponent is bluffing and bet accordingly. Some opponents may go all-in and have nothing in their hand.

Tournaments

During tournaments, on the top-left of the screen you will see an information box.
https://steamuserimages-a.akamaihd.net/ugc/2046366730898609982/4091E256BA2A4586D8262F6E268684AC06D01761/?imw=256&&ima=fit&impolicy=Letterbox&imcolor=%23000000&letterbox=false
The figures on the bottom-left show the current Big-Blind (BB), Small-Blind (SB) and in brackets, the Attrition value. The attrition value is deducted from every player's chips at the start of the hand, before the hand is played. The attrition chips are added to the pot.
The figures on the bottom-right show the BB, SB and Attrition values that will be in force after the time interval specified on the bottom-right.

Add-Ons are in chips (not tokens) and are a real advantage if you want to win the tournament. Make sure you can afford this before entering. If your chip score is low, it is often worth going all-in to either zero your chip score (and re-buy) or benefit with a win, just before the break for Add-Ons.

*** Caution *** During Multi-Table Tournaments (MTTs), you are likely to be shifted between tables. Normally, you will be “Waiting” at the new table for the next hand to begin, but occasionally you will be thrust into the middle of an existing hand and may need to respond immediately. This, I believe, is a fault with HD’s software. *** Tip *** The hand display on the bottom left of the screen may come on before the table is displayed. If this happens, prepare for a quick choice of buttons.

*** Caution *** The FOLD / CALL /RAISE etc buttons will not work on the first press within half a second of the stakes changing or your turn coming up. This is not a flaw in HD’s software, but a feature, whereby mistakenly betting when you meant to fold is avoided.

Many players have complained about HD’s shuffling and the unusual and unlikely cards that have been dealt. Well, they should not, because HD shuffle randomly and unlikely cards will be dealt occasionally with a random shuffle. Here is their certificate to prove it:
So:
Cards are fixed at the start of the hand. HD does not randomly (or not) pick cards from the remaining deck.
Bribing the dealer does not affect the run of cards in any way.
Cards are not chosen by HD specifically to make the game more exciting.
If you fold, the next cards are what you would have been dealt.
