SO Shymavan Desert Oil Refinery [MISSION SPAWN]

Welcome to the Spectrum Oil Shymavan Desert Processing Plant! This realistic refinery built for SO is capable of refining approximately 800 liters of crude oil per minute and features an authentic feel and control layout. As you can expect, running an entire oil refinery isn't easy. Here's a rundown of how to properly start and shutdown the Shymavan Desert Oil Processing Plant.

STARTUP:
1. Make sure you have a proper intake source of crude oil to be refined. You can link hoses, pipe segments, or use the custom mission spawn to get an adequate supply of crude oil.

2. Go to the control room located on the third floor of the central office building and activate all the breakers located on the left-hand panel. You can tell what is on by looking at the conveniently-located display in front of the panel. Green lights denote a connected breaker.

3. Start all three furnaces by using the right-hand panel in the control room. Follow this order when starting the furnaces:
1. Air, fuel, and exhaust pumps ON
2. Furnace ignition ON
3. Oil output valve switches ON
4. Oil sluice gate 100% OPEN
6. Oil intake valve switches ON

4. Once each furnace is above 300*, use the central flow panel located in between the previous two panels and turn on the desalinator water intake and desalinator switches.

5. Turn on all three "crude oil to furnace" pumps

6. Enable all three "raw crude oil feed" valve switches. A green indicator will light up when the pipe is open.

7. Enable all the switches located on the right side of the fractional distillation tower gauge

If you want to boost the output of more valuable liquids such as diesel and jet fuel, enable the "purified oil recirculation pump" switch and all three "purified oil return" switches. This will recycle purified oil through the furnaces and distillation system for more efficient production.

WARNING: If you do not activate the devaporization system for the oil storage tank, there is a chance that the oil will continue to separate into diesel and jet fuel inside its storage tank. Using the devaporization system will cool the oil to below subdividing temperature and allow only pure oil to remain in storage.

SHUTDOWN:

1. Close the "raw crude oil feed valves"

2. Shut down the furnaces by deactivating the air, fuel, exhaust, and ignition switches. NOTE: the furnaces will remain very hot for a while after this is done.

3. Wait until the oil remaining in the fractional distillation tower reaches 0. Once this has happened, turn off all pumps, close all valves, and stop all processes EXCEPT for the storage devaporization system.

BACKUP SYSTEMS AND REDUNDANCY:

In case of a power failure, there is a backup generator and corresponding battery that can be toggled from the electrical system panel in the control room. This generator uses its own fuel supply and can power the whole refinery, even with all systems active.

There is a small panel on the back wall of the control room which features diesel transfer toggles in the case that any of the furnaces or the backup generator runs out of fuel. This system takes processed diesel from the refinery itself and uses it to restock the reserves used for fueling it's furnaces and generator. It's highly unlikely that you will need to use these, but if you do, they're there.

For any reason whatsoever, there is an emergency drain switch for the fractional distillation tower located in the center of the central flow panel in the control room. This will rapidly drain the fractional distillation tower. (no way really, i had no idea what that did...)

FINAL NOTES:

This project has taken me about 3 months, although most of it was spent procrastinating and working on other dumb stuff.

Try not to burn the place down, it's not cheap.
