I would use blender as its a great and precise modeling game, just look up tutorials on how to make a doughnut or something to help you, then try making a helmet for AW3. And most importantly make sure to model your helmet or mask around a beveled cube in reference to the head of characters in game.[previewicon=32087899;sizeThumb,inline;how to blender.
this video should teach you all you need to know about blender for beginners, but if you already know hot to use blender just skip it.
What To Make
I started with making grenades because they are very easy to model and edit in blender and in game. you can play around with that to get comfortable with modeling in blender, and MOST IMPORTANTLY sizing in ancient warfare 3. be warned don't go directly for modeling guns if your new because you need practice. once you model something challenge yourself into making something harder with the new things you know and you will become less and less noob and more and more pro.
Sizing And Placement
Sizing is key in this game, it could be what gets your model on the front page. aim for going small/realistic in relative proportion to the body minus the head. since the characters in this game are wonky and out of proportion I wouldn't expect you to get it on the first try just try to practice it. PRO TIP size your weapon before you do bullet spawn and stuff, It will save you alot of time, and play to see how big it is or get a player reference with render settings on the bottom right of your screen.

RANGED WEAPONS: A good tip is to use vanilla guns as references for size. For example if your trying to make an AR platform gun, use the S4. Or for your AK use the s47 platform. when your done make sure it fits snug in the characters hand's, covering the handler all the way or a little bit, and make sure you can see the trigger as it will look better in game.
MELEE: with melee sizing is less strict, just make it realistic, again use reference images from the game like the modern knife. and make sure you don't make it too long. I would keep the handle still viable with knifes and move the handle just to the left a tiny bit as it will replicate a hand holding things slightly to the side.
Coloring
Coloring is just as important as sizing in the way that it could make or break your model's popularity, you could make an amazing model but only have one dull color. There are a lot of ways to color your model, you can color it in blender, or in game when importing model. I will teach you how to color in game because I find it easier, but your going to start in blender. you can, A: divide the mesh and assign it a new color and pick a stupid looking color and refine it in game.

you can do that by making or importing another mesh and assigning it a new color like this or B: the exact same thing but fewer meshes by loop cuting or knife cutting the part you want, Selecting that sides you want and going to the right side selecting color pressing "+" then clicking on new or the "browse material to be linked" button to ling an already existing color with selected sides.
coloring tip, keep wood dark and dull meaning not shiny, keep most things dull, and keep metal dull, but not too dull, metal should be dark grey. magazines should be lighter than the gun to make your weapon pop, if your gun has one. Aiming recitals for scopes should be very bright colors to pop and be seen more wile aiming.
Build in Scopes and Iron Sights
Most ranged weapons have iron sights, the stock aiming option for any gun without a scope, these can be tricky to pull of if you want the gun to have tactical function. what you will want to do is make what you would take off your gun a separate part, and if there are two parts, link them together so they come off nicely.
then export how you normally would (As an obj file). once your in the game make a Ranged weapon. then import your new model into the game go down until it says Aiming: Iron Sight Ref, click on it then on your iron sights that you grouped together.
after doing that if you put a scope on it, your iron sights should disappear.
Exporting and Other crap
I don't really know, it kinda just happened to me one day, but i do advise making a folder for all your models, it will really help with storage,

Gun sounds, Holding
There is little to be said but i have a few tips, if you want your gun to sound mean select heavy rifle. A substitute sound for the shotgun is heavy rifle if you dont like the shotgun sound. The difference between auto shotgun and shotgun sound is basically nothing idk, but if you wanna make a auto shotgun like the AA12 or just a semi auto shotgun then use auto shotgun.

Same thing goes for holding, I find it to be not important, but you can go ahead and try to spot the difference on your own. The only holding position you will probably use is rifle, pistol, rpg, minigun and bow, most of the other option are useless.For melee there are more useful options for you but i'm not going to name them all, but the main ones are spear, one handed sword/knife 2 handed sword.
How to Get Your Model on The Front Page
Make new things that no one has done yet, or you could make something you know everyone wants for example, my WW1 german helmet, I knew everyone wanted this, and I see this in alot of ww1 games and ww1 units. A good way to find if anything has been made yet is searching it up, but you dont have to be the first one always, you just have to be the best one with the most quality that looks good in this game. My ww1 german helmet was not the first ww1 German helmet, but it was one of the most detailed in my opinion. Another way you can get popular is if you make anti furry stuff, I made an armband and started a war on this game, one that will rage on for years, before me there was peace in this game, after me we found pieces of furrys scattered about in this game. there are other games to kill furrys on like people playground, i just spread the killing. thats something i like to call negative popularity, you can also get that by modeling more frowned upon things like the guns used in columbine or a framed painting of angry Austrian man, just as long as you let people know that your joking when you do negative popularity then your good, but with anti furry stuff I don't care if your joking or not, but the furrys do. and with all that said, I hope you have learned something here today, Goodnight everybody!
