Description
The Dragonfly
A small grid scout and light attack aircraft, inspired by the Type 4 Doragon from BF2142

This is the third and most likely final iteration of the LAC-3 Dragonfly, with some improvements and changes to its systems. The LAC-3C incorporates a sort of RWR to enhance pilot situational awareness. This change was prompted by the automatons update and the proliferation of inexpensive player-made missiles, that can engage silently up to the last second. With its high maneuverability and early warning, the LAC-3C can now evade many of these new threats. This does increase empty mass and complexity, but the increased survivability is well worth it. The craft is of course survival-friendly.

Main changes:
  • Added lock-on alert system, with aural and visual alerts.
  • Added a projector for self-repairs, as suggested by YOUDIE411.
  • Added side thrusters for better handling.
  • Added automatic charging/discharging when docked, using an event controller.
  • Removed parachute, as it was found to be of little use in most combat situations.

i loved flying this in 2142, i tried recreating it in from the depths, but specifically the thruster layout with the two side thrusters and a vectoring rear one. i ran into the same problem with not being able to place the rear tail wing aligned with the front (ftd has aerodynamics for its control surfaces). there was a second iteration that sort of succeeded without blocking the rear thruster but its difficult to manage with the voxels you have
