Louie

• This one is impossible to miss. Just visit the Adventurer's Guild and clear the Hall of Trials in order to get his card.

Charme

• Beat her in Jade Way.
  
• She will then come to the shop regularly: sell at least two items to her.
  
• After, she will trigger an event in the shop and give you her card.

Caillou

• Reach Merchant Level 3.
  
• Someday, Caillou will come in to place an order.
  
• After completing the order, sell him items until he gives you his card.

Elan

• Charme must be unlocked.
  
• Do the pub event at night, the one where he appears.
  
• Then, do the event on merchants guild at morning, where you must make a delivery.
  
• After a while, Elan will start to pop up into your store (the chances increase if the atmosphere is Plain / Light and the items on display are cheap).
  
• Sell two or three items to him.
  
• He will then give you his card.

Nagi

• After Day 9, she randomly appears in dungeons (not in Boss Rushes).
  
• Meet her four times in the dungeons, then wait for her to visit the shop (she likes a Light and slightly Gaudy atmosphere).
  
• Sell items to her a few times, then she will give you her card.

Tielle

• Unlock Jade Way.
  
• Do her event in the Morning or Afternoon cycle, Town Square.
  
• Complete Jade Road, then Amber Garden, where you will face her in the 30th floor.
  
• She will then start to appear randomly into the store (a Light atmosphere will make this process faster).
  
• Sell a few things to her, so she can give you her card.

Arma

• You must be in Endless Mode(*)
  
• All other characters must be unlocked.
  
• One morning, she will visit you in the shop.
  
• Complete the Lapis Ruins and she will give you her card.

Griff

• You must be in Endless Mode(*).
  
• Complete Amber Garden.
  
• Meet with Griff during a night event at Town Square.
  
• Encounter him again, at night, and in Town Square.
  
• Griff will then show up in the store, as long as the atmosphere is Dark and the time is either Evening or Night.
  
• The next time Louie visits Recettear, he will tell you about the sudden appearance of the Obsidian Tower (Louie likes a Plain atmosphere, so keep this in mind if you need him to spawn).
  
• Now that the dungeon is unlocked, reach the 30th floor.
  
• Defeat Griff.
  
• Reach the 50th floor, and defeat Griff & The Archdevil's Arm.
  
• Now Griff will start popping up into the store, as long as you open at Evening/Night and have a Dark atmosphere. Sell him a few items until he gives you his card.

Jade Way

• Pay off the debt.
  
• Unlock every adventurer besides Arma.
  
• Then, Arma will likely come into your store and trigger a unique event.
  
• Now, Lapis Ruins is accessible.

Crystal Nightmare

• Clear Lapis Ruins.
  
• Now, Crystal Nightmare is accessible.

Obsidian Tower

• Beat Tielle in Amber Garden.
  
• Witness both night events in Town Square with Griff.
  
• After, he comes into the store to give you a warning (the probability increases if your shop's atmosphere is leaning towards Dark).
  
• If every requisite has been satisfied, the next day Louie will enter the store and tell you about a new dungeon.
  
• Now, Obsidian Tower is accessible.

Endless Mode
Endless Mode is unlocked by beating the game. It's not present as an option on the title screen; the way you go into Endless Mode is by choosing to load (and thus continue) any Cleared file. Essentially, you will resume from where you left off (Day 37), and can do whatever you want without having to worry about paying off any more debt. New Game Plus
New Game + is one of the modes unlocked after the first time you successfully pay off the debt in a game (the other being Endless Mode). It allows you to select a save marked as "Cleared," and begin a new game on Day 2 with many elements of your old save intact. When you elect to start a New Game +, the game will ask which file you want to use for your carry-over data; you can use any Endless Mode file regardless of its progress, a cleared New Game, or even another New Game +. Survival Mode / Survival Hell
Survival Mode (which includes Survival Hell) is unlocked by clearing the Lapis Ruins dungeon in Endless Mode. After the game got updated to a certain version however, you unlock both modes just by completing the game. Once the option is accessible, Survival Mode can be started from the main menu. Choosing it will allow you to select whether you'd like to play a Normal Survival, or try your luck at Survival Hell. A Survival Mode game is mostly the same, objective-wise and starting-materials-wise, as either a New Game or New Game +, depending which you choose (although there are a few differences), but instead of being done after 5 weeks, you're allowed to keep playing indefinitely, and your debt payments just keep getting bigger every week until it becomes impossible for you to pay. You must choose a file to use for playing Survival Mode, as the game needs to know which data to use for the things that will carry over; you can use any Endless Mode file (regardless of its progress), or a cleared New Game or New Game + file.
