In this guide im gonna describe Free to play as F2P and Pay to Pay as P2p, so let just explain all the following things you'll need into order to become a Pay to Pay:
- 6-10 dollars Steam wallet (had to make it 6 dollars due to inflation of item prices)
- A Phone (for the Phone Number and Steam guard)
- Email
- Patience as it will take a lot of time

The moment you become a Pay to play user, you will receive the following benefits:

1 - Being able to chat in TF2
(Voicelines, Voice Chat, and Text Chat.)

2 - Trading access
(To remove the delay you gotta put on Steam Guard, information about it is in the bottom of
the page)

3 - Steam Market access

4 - Item drops become tradable/marketable

5 - Your Tf2 inventory gets a increase from 50 to 300 slots

6 - Full Crafting for Tf2
(Not recommended to craft hats with refined, unless you want to gamble then go for it)

7 - Being able to gift items to anyone

8 - Cosmetics and items can random drop
(It's very rare but it could happen)

First get 5-10 dollars Steam wallet, then open up Team Fortress 2, then go the Mann Co Store


Note: Dont buy anything on the Mann Co Store except the following things that im gonna list down to you and ill explain why you should buy it

First is the Mann Co Crate Key


The reason why you should buy the Mann Co Crate key is because this is the main currency of Team Fortress 2, you use this to buy Cosmetics, convert it into refined metal to buy cosmetics and trade for high value items

Second is the Tour of Duty Ticket


The reason to buy this is if you have limited money after buying the Mann Co Crate key, you can use this to either gamble on Mann Up Mode in MVM or to trade this for a lot of refined metal

Third is the backpack expander


The reason to buy this is if you want a lot of space in your inventory to put a lot more items, so basically you can use this to expand your inventory to have more items in it. Bear in mind the Tf2 inventory limit is 2000 slots, each backpack expander you use gives you 100 extra slots

4th is optional but the Jungle Inferno Contracts Pass


The reason to buy this is to earn money while having fun, I suggest you save your blood money to buy the Cases as most of the items in the Gift shop are cheap except the cases. But remember dont except a huge amount of profit from this item

You need to atleast spend 5-6 dollars on Steam to be a Pay to Play

After you add to cart the items you wanna buy now you checkout and buy

To set up Steam guard you will need a phone number and sms message, what you do is
1. Go to your Steam app on your phone
2. Click the middle icon on the bottom that looks like a shield
3. Then you add your steam guard
4. Type in your phone number
5. After you type in your phone number, you will be greeted with a Sms message with a code and what you do is write the code you are given
6. After you type the code, you now have Steam guard

Setting up Steam guard allows you to increase security to your Steam account and give you access to the Steam market

Note: After you set up Steam guard, you must wait 15 days to be able to trade and use the Steam market, it may seem like a lot of time but be patient

You now have access to the Steam market and trading in general, now im gonna demonstrate how the Steam market works

Some items will be marketable like Mercenary grade items, strange items, genuines, vintages and etc. You can list your items by clicking this

After you click sell, you will be greeted with a steam market sell thing where you can decide how much you want to sell it for, but I do suggest you sell it for what its listed at

Note: There is a 15% fee, so basically if you were to list a item for like say 100 pesos it will be deducted to 85 pesos due to the 15% fee

I wont go into too much detail on how this works, but I will explain a few basics

There is 2 main currencies
Refined metal are the coins of TF2

Keys are the dollars of TF2



Basically the way to trade is go to your inventory and click

Then you will be greeted with this
What you do is click new trade offer and pick which one do you wanna trade with

I forgot to mention, these are a few things you will deal with when going pay to play
- Trade holds, everytime you buy a Item from the Mann Co Store or Steam market there is a 7 day trade hold meaning you can't trade that item for 7 days
- Beware of Scammers as they will try to trick you into getting your items stolen, so what you should do is avoid suspicious links, don't sign in into any websites when they ask for password and username as you will get hacked and be a victim of phishing

This is where we put extra things that we forgot to put, so when add more content it gets added here

Scammers are everywhere on not only Team Fortress 2, they are everywhere in Steam so here are a few tips to help reduce or prevent yourself from getting scammed and losing items

1. Do not sign up on shady third party website links - There are scammers that send links to you to some website that they tell you to sign up, like say they want to verify your items there, sign up to vote on their team etc.

If you are gonna sign up into sites like Backpack, scrap or quicksell, this is how you spot a fake and real site

This is what a legit sign up sign in is As you can see, upon sign ininto one of those sites, you can see that there is a sign up button, just that no asking for passwords or anything, meaning its safe to sign in

And this is what a fake sign up sign in looks like In this one if a site your gonna sign up on asks for a password, username and steam guard phone number, then its a scam avoid it already before its too late

2. Be careful with expensive items that you get through Unboxing or MVM

Like these items for example:
If you were to like say, obtain a Australium item through Mvm like a Golden Pan, Australium Rocket Launcher or etc, be ready to be added by so many scammers as these items are valuable and expensive, so please be careful with them dont go trusting strangers that add you asking for a deal with that pan, think about how much it costs and its heavy value

Along with Unusual hats if you were to unbox a very expensive Unusual, scammers tend to also add you the same as I mentioned earlier, they will take that away from you if you are not careful

There is a thing called sharking which is a method where the person tricks you into selling a very expensive item like the golden pan for a very cheap price like say

Example: Jack obtains a 1000 dollar Item and Sam tricks Jack by making him think that the item is just worth 10 dollars, so Jack gives him the item and Sam gives only 10 dollars for the expensive item
