General Tips
This will go over a few useful tips and tenants of decoration

  • Shade EVERYTHING. shading will make any part of your vehicle look better, you can do this by adding slight variation to the color of your blocks.
  • Look at images of the real thing, or something similar to your vehicle.
  • Use blocks creatively, for example, you could use a spotlight as a cup on a cupholder.
  • Study other vehicles, your fellow stormworker knows many things.
  • Make sure to have Grid Lines and Direction Arrows off while decorating

Also, functionality will make your vehicle look better, check out this guide to make your vehicles more functional.

House/Ship Room Design
First, lets choose the color we want the outside of our room to be, then build a basic room.

Now, lets color each side of our room.

This room is still quite boring, it looks too unrealistic, we can fix that by shading it to make it look more weathered, Do this by adding slight variation to the color of the walls & floors

The room looks better, but is still unrealistic, add a few flaws/wall decorations to add realism.

The room is complete, we can now furnish it.

Decorating your Tank
First, build a tank.

Now, color it.

Shade your tank.

Add details to your tank, including : Handles, Rope Anchors, Engine Radiators, Armor, Sensors, Countermeasures, Bags, Ropes, Spare Tyres (functionality helps alot with this part)

Great, you now have a visually appealing tank!
Steampunk Style

This guide will go over how to style a steampunk vehicle. we will use the Mackarel as an example
  • Use a color scheme based on the metals of Brass & Bronze
  • Instead of trying to hide your engines & the mechanisms behind your vehicle, open them up and integrate them into your vehicle.
  • Make heavy use of cylinders in shaping your vehicle
  • Place mechanical parts on your vehicle as decoration.
  • Take inspiration from old cars and trains. (Pre 1936)
Decorating tank/apc interior
Here is the interior of my tank.

First, you will want to shade it to add some flaws to the walls and floors, as usual.

Now that it is shaded, add storage cabinets with paint blocks, ventilation systems & piping.

Finally, add in your functionality with seats and instrument panels.
