Ω Extended Tech Tree Mod - Letalium Addon

In 1 collection by SirCampalot
Extended Tech Tree Mod.
32 items
Description
Addon for Extended Tech Tree Mod. Spawns additional mineable megaroids containing iron, copper and trace amounts of letalium. Some of these asteroids will contain silver and letalium. The extra asteroids will spawn in asteroid fields and in the asteroid belt.

It's safe to enable and disable this add-on mod during your current playthrough, but it needs Extended Tech Tree Mod enabled to function properly as this is not a standalone mod.

.

With this mod enabled, Extended Tech Tree Mod will spawn more asteroids containing trace amounts of letalium. This mod is for people who already use Extended Tech Tree Mod and Mineable Megaroids Compatibility Patch, but wish more for more letalium containing asteroids to spawn.

There is a slim chance one will spawn in any default asteroid field and one will be guaranteed to spawn inside the asteroid belt.

.

What is letalium?
Letalium is a new resource added to the game by the Extended Tech Tree Mod.
Also known as Letalium-666, it is a very rare element with characteristics similar to uranium-235.
Noone knows how these gluons can keep these enormous atoms from falling apart, but it is presumed letalium atoms are held together by unknown subatomic particles which can only be produced within a black hole. For reasons unknown to scientists, these subatomic particles keep existing even after the black hole in which they are generated has been destroyed.

As the destruction of a black hole is an exceedingly rare event, this leaves letalium very hard to find as no scientist has found a way to reproduce it yet.

Being much more potent than uranium, this raw material has much more potential when enriched and can be used in advanced energy production as well as in new weapons (super nukes).

Version 1.1.0 supports Cosmoteer 0.26.2.
Previous versions of Cosmoteer will no longer work with this mod due to changes in how asteroids are spawned.

also from what i can understand the scientist part kinda confirms the subatomic particle theory by implying scientists have looked into them. again not the arbiter of grammatical understanding.

huh, fair enough. if i get the time i might try to calculate what a heavier isotope of letalium might be and if not i propose letalium-777 to keep the bible theme going.

also i would add "by some outside of scientific circles" or something like that as your logic is sound it just wasnt too clear to me (not that im the arbiter of language comprehension im a dumbass)

And I actually don't mind the nitpicking as such. I actually like it as it will make my own language skills only better.

The only thing I don't want is to have the feedback swarmed with topics that have nothing to do with the mod itself as that would require too much maintenance and would make things too cluttered for my taste.

@the Big Cheems:
About the theorized/presumed, I think presumed isn't actually that wrong, even though theorized may actually be a bit better. But (and please correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not a native english speaker) as scientists are specifically mentioned a bit later in the text, this does imply that whoever is doing the presuming is thus not one of these scientists and people who aren't scientists will usually presume based on what they heard (like how we as non-scientsists may presume something is a certain way by watching some 'scientific' youtube program).
So I believe presume is actually correct based on its location within the text as scientsist are only introduced later, thus are unlikely to be included before their mention so I think presume is actually correct.

@the Big Cheems:
I thought a bit about what you said. Long story short: even if you're technically correct, it isn't really very relevant as the main focus of this game is gameplay.
It's a bit similar to why it isn't very relevant what exactly tritanium and hyperium are and why there is an invisible wall at the edge of every star system and why do we have to jump using these gates? What exactly is hyper jumping? How does that even work?
Why is space ammo made using only sulfur and why is steel made of only iron even if we actually do have carbon?
Why do we need people carrying batteries?

It's true that all these may be technically less correct, but it's a game design choice in the end.

Having said that, thank you for yor feedback, I will take it into account as it wouldn't hurt to make the lore I write maybe a little bit more consistent or something.

how do you enrich it if theres only one isotope (666)? uranium in enriched by increasing the amount of 235 over 238 so is there a heavier letalium.
also grammar nitpick you should say "theorised" instead of "presumed" as "presumed" just doesn't fit when talking about theoretical science.

Version 1.0.1 updates the supported game version. No gameplay changes.
