add a plan

add a sub div modifier

add wireframe modifier

add a decimate modifier and put it before wireframe

@FEDYA Agree for that image as plane add-on is good

Also there is another method
You can use poke faces and delete only face and use wireframe modifier with skin modifier

For something as minor as a mesh fence, it's better to use a PNG texture than such excessive geometry. Maybe with a normal map.
