Improved World Traits [UPDATED]

An update to Guinaro's mod "Improved World Traits".

The mod has not been thoroughly tested so if you encounter any bugs, let me know.

Changes
The original mod implemented randomness by adding multiple copies of the same trait with slight variations. This could cause some traits to become much more common than others so those "underrepresented" traits also got copies added just to balance out the different numbers of traits. I have removed this to make the mod easier to manage and instead use another way to randomize some of these traits. With this change in randomization and other limitations, I had to change how some traits work. Here is a list of those changes:
  • Large Boulders, Medium Boulders, Mixed Boulders, Small Boulders, Geodes, and Slime Molds now always add a set number of features (same as the base game).
  • Geoactive now always adds 4 random geysers. (previously 4 - 8)
  • Geodormant now always reduces the number of random geysers by 4. (previously 3 - 7)
  • Geohyperactive now always adds 12 random geysers. (previously 10 - 14)
  • Powerproducers, Resourceproducers, and Waterproducers now each add 4 geysers as described in their description (previously replacing 6 random geysers with 6 known geysers).

I am having the same issue as Meister, It seems the frosty Planet Pack is uncompatible with this mod, would you be able to fix this? it is fine if not, however it would remain nice to have.

The mod uses vanila geyser spawns, you could replace the spawns in this mod by changing the geysers in each worldgen trait file to some uncoved geyser type, similar to my comment below. You might need another mod that adds such geysers however.

@Clamor_S, The code is not published anywhere, although there is not much code to begin with. Most of the additions in this mod are added through text files. I currently do not have any plans for adding such configuration options, but if you want to alter the effect of the traits yourself, you can do so by editing the trait files added by this mod. In the mod folder, you should be able to find the worldgen/traits/*.yaml files to edit. If you want to change the poluted water vent to a cool slush geyser, edit "worldgen/traits/WaterProducers.yaml" and remove the "- geysers/hot_po2" line.

@JoXW Thank you for this mod it is extremely useful! If you are still maintaining it may you add abiliti to configure in mod settings which geysers wiil spawn with power/resource/water producers traits. For example to choose cool stush geyser instead of poluted water vent or cobalt volcano instead of gold etc. That would be a nice touch. Thanks!

@Shepherd, i have noticed that after the Song of the Moo update, the world generation would fail more often, especially on Terra. The problem is that these traits adds additional structures that the game tries to place on the map, if it fails to place the structures (they overlap or have no valid spawn location) the world generation fails. Try to generate the world with different seeds or other traits and see if it works. I have not played the latest game version so i am unsure if it might have caused some issues.

If that does not work, please write a more detailed comment in the "Issues" discussion.

@joxw when trying to generate a world with the custom traits the world will not generate
