This will be a short one, most folks hate fiddling with settings to get games to work but I promise you, its easy and Ragnarok is worth the time. I just couldn't find any information on this and almost gave up playing altogether, after some searching and piecing things together I found a pretty great workaround.

So, when you boot up the game you get asked for settings but if you enable full screen you get an error when the game starts and it crashes. Go back to settings, disable full screen, and set the resolution to the last option on the page. The game will boot now, but you'll notice if you're playing on a television like I am you'll quickly notice you cannot read the letters telling you what to do. How frustrating! Not today! Go to your Ragnarok.exe file, right click, click on properties. On this next window click "compatibility" at the top. Then you're going to want to check "Run in Compatibility mode" and choose the option for "Windows XP pack 2". In this same window there is a box that says "change high DPI settings", click on that. Another window will open, Click the box for "High DPI scaling options" and choose "System" from the drop down box. Hit apply.

Congratulations, you can now sit back and enjoy Ragnarok from a Television in 2023!
