The ship is designed to act as an intermediary between the various frigates and destroyers and the larger battleships operated by the AF, with the ship possessing a large amount of anti-ship firepower and armor while still being cheap enough to be produced on mass. In addition to its primary armament of cannons, the Cerberus is also armed with secondary CIWS systems that can perform limited anti-aircraft duties, as well as what is believed to be 4 large torpedo launchers mounted beneath the hull. Addendum ███/██/██: After further examination of field reports it has come to light that what was originally believed to be under-hull torpedo launchers are actually twin under-hull hangar bays for small submersible craft. While these bays seemed to have been mainly repurposed to deploy torpedos during the initial stages of the R'tlon offensive after the fighting has ceased Cerberus class vessels have been spotted using these bays for their original purpose, where Cerberuses were spotted deploying over 200 submersible craft of unknown purpose and make into the R'tlon Trench.
