Rainbow Six: Siege | House [CS:GO ORIGINAL VER. KEPT FOR NOVELTY]

Description
Near 100% faithful recreation of the pre-rework map 'House' from Rainbow Six: Siege. Features various recreated gameplay elements such as a locational spawn system, barricaded doors, floor hatches, defenders being detected if they leave the building, etc.
Built for 5v5, bomb only. Bots are supported but they may have quirks as it's not really designed for them.

Originally started as a joke and a "what if" idea, over the course of about 2 years it has slowly been built up to a point that I'm ready to release it. Hitting engine limitations one after another stumped my desire to finish this project a lot. Texture limits, brush limits, face limits... you name it, I hit it. Piece by piece I was able to cut corners and eventually squeeze in just about everything I wanted. I had limited references to copy from as House received a major rework a while back, meaning I couldn't just launch Siege and look around. Relying purely on YT vids and help from a friend, I eventually got there. It's not 100% perfect or scale accurate, but it's very close, and I'm really happy with it.

I'd love any feedback and it might just go towards future remakes (in CS2 - this was hard enough already lmao). Despite the pain of Source and Hammer, this was a very fun project and I hope you all have some fun with it. If you're a content creator and you'd like to use/show off the map, by all means do!

I am currently, editing the video description. Stay tuned, any moment ep.8 will be live on Youtube. About the map, I've loved it. One thing I notice, level feeling smaller and faster than the org. game one. But that is just CS:GO, Source. Just an observation. Still, loved the map! Hope to see more from You as well! :gman:

@MrTrane18 Thank you! Definitely a labour of love. I spent a lot of time making it look right, often going back over areas if I found more fitting textures or if I realised the geo didn't quite match up

Amazing work bro!

I have played the game , Rainbow as well, so once I take a close look at the map, I will have an vibe to compare with.

By the photos, the detail and the work seems done amazing.

I even happened to play the map as well, love the staircase vibe the photos give!

@Kyojuro Rengoku I've thought about plenty. The limitation for the kind of bar I'd want to hit is the engine itself. Siege maps are very open and stacked upwards, CS is flat and segmented - room, connector, room, connector etc. Source really prefers tighter closed in spaces. You *can* actually crash this version of house if you noclip out over the water, turn around and drop into it. It causes the whole map to try being rendered and overloads it. Thankfully I couldn't replicate any crash during normal gameplay so I let it slide.

When CS2 drops fully, I'll tinker around and see how far that can be pushed. I definitely *want* to make more, but I feel I'd need the new engine to really push it how I'd want to. If CS2 lets us go crazy, I could see plenty of remakes down the line ;)
