If you're skilled enough, you can just use a wooden katana to beat his ass. But considering you are reading this you probably aren't that good. Stuff I'd reccomend are;

MURASAMA [Best damage dealing weapon]
WIG B [Allows you to be in ripper mode infinitely]

No secondary weapon needed.




You should learn to parry, you're gonna need it. If you're gonna try Revengence he's a piece of cake. you can try to perfect parry him which will take 30-40% health, meaning an entire phase can be passed with a perfect parry. Remember that you must use ripper mode to do the most amount of damage.

Phase 1 lasts until you get him to a point around 65% health, then he will charge you giving you ability to disarm him. This phase is easy if you know how to parry. He'll be a lot more passive in the first phase considering to Phase-3. Sam has 4 combos, one of them can't be perfect parried but the other 3 can be. If you play long enough you'll know which one can't be perfect parried and which ones can be.



Phase 2 starts after you disarm him, he will try to grab you. You can just parry or dodge him. He can also try to kick you which you can't see a red flash before it. If you try to slide he will slam your face to the ground. Around 45% he'll grab your sword and thats the end of Phase 2




Phase 3 starts after he gets his sword back, being the hardest phase. His attacks will get more different and he will get more defensive. He'll move a lot more and do his 3 strike combo which will send your ass to heaven if you don't block it right.

When you get him lower than 10% health, you'll have a chance to get finish him off with a quick time event. After that, boom boom. Fights over.

To get an S rank, you'll need 10.000 BP in this fight. If you do manage to go through the fight without taking any damage above hard difficulty you'll ge the special achivement "Chosen by history"


Sam is really one of the easier bosses, with some practice he can be killed very easily. He's actually a lot easier than Monsoon which is the second hardest boss. While the hardest being DLC Armstrong. An actual nightmare.
