Obtaining the Quicken Report
Open your Quicken software and open your desired budget. We need to extract your summary information to enter into YNAB. The standard Quicken Net Worth report works well. You can access it from the menu Reports > Net Worth & Balances > Net Worth.

You may want to modify the report to exclude data you may have entered. Click the Customize button to edit the account and categories included in the report.
Once you've setup the report, be sure to select the report interval 'Month' and the dates prior to starting YNAB.
Exporting the Data and Preparing to Enter into YNAB
You can read it directly from this report and enter it into YNAB yet the report is super cluttered. We're only really worried about the change in your net worth every month.

Export the data into an Excel compatible file. Save it in a location you remember with an appropriate name.

Start Excel and Open your file. The Import Text Wizard will guide you to display the data properly. The default file type is a tab delimited file.

The last row "OVERALL TOTAL" is the key information. Recommendation: Delete all the rows between the data and the Overall Total to make it easier to focus.
Feeding YNAB
Start YNAB and have the correct budget open. Create a new account with the 'New Account Button' at the bottom of the left. Enter a good title such as 'Quicken History', the date and starting Net Worthof you Quicken history, select 'Other Loan or Liability' and off-budget. This is critical to ensure you do not mess up your budget.

Enter as a separate transaction the monthly changes in Net Worth from your exported Quicken Report. At the end, be certain to enter an outflow which makes the account balance zero.

Close the account.

Now your YNAB reports will include your Quicken History without having to enter in every transaction.
