The Azov Brigade (Ukrainian Azov Brigade), previously known as the Azov Battalion and the Azov Regiment (Ukrainian Azov Regiment), is a tactical formation of the National Guard of Ukraine[1]. During the battles for Mariupol in 2022, the formation was referred to as a “separate special forces detachment “Azov”” (Ukrainian Okremiy zagin special recognition “Azov”) as part of the military unit 3057 (12th operational brigade of the NGU) of the Eastern Operational-Territorial Association National Guard of Ukraine[6].
