MTL NXT Dashboard

The MTL NXT Dashboard (from what i can see) is the first smart dashboard on the workshop. It works via touch and can display a bunch of very useful info which makes it the solution to having 15 displays just to get basic info in a car.


The MTL NXT has a very easy to understand interface. You just touch the right part of the dashboard to scroll 1 screen to the right and touch the left part to scroll 1 screen to the left. You can see which screen you are currently on by looking at the Screen Selector. (marked in the Centre Display layout photo)


The Centre Display is the display with the most information. It is intended to be the main display that the user sees, but that's up to you :). As seen below it shows the usual information that a regular dashboard would + a nice darkened clock so you can always tell the time.




The Weather Assistant is the first screen you stumble upon when you scroll to the right. Rather than just showing you the rain and fog level, the Weather Assistant describes the weather in human understandable words. Right under the current weather there will also be a section showing you the current temperature in degrees Celsius (the better temp system)




This screen is pretty self explanatory. It just shows you the exact percentage of fuel and battery you have left for when a 20px bar just isn't informative enough.




The first screen you will stumble upon when scrolling to the left will be the Fuel Economy Screen. This screen will automagically calculate your fuel economy in L/100km so you never have range anxiety.




The last screen all the way to the left is the Odometer. All it does is show you how many kilometres you've driven since your creation was spawned. It's really nice at the end of a trip to see how many kilometres you've managed to drive. (hopefully without crashing)




The MTL NXT offers a few necessary adjustments (max fuel, max rps, max speed) and a few customization options in the property menu.

With these you can turn on/off any of the secondary screens if, for example, you don't care about the weather or any of the other highly informative displays.

There is also an option to disable the carbon fibre background. I offer that as an option because i've noticed in beta testing that the complexity of the background can cause a little bit of extra lag. (at least on my pretty beefy pc it adds around 1.8 ms to the logic render). And if there is enough demand i will try to include more backgrounds like leather, metal, plastic etc.
