Shalom From Space

Shalom clones I'm Rabbibot and I have noticed a lot of clone captains fresh out of the tubes express their frustrations on infestation problems aboard their ships.

Please permit me to take a moment of your time to explain how to avoid pesky ship infestation through basic quarantine practices.
Torah ! Torah ! Torah !
First we need to consult the ancient wisdom from our most venerated sacred text so that we may know the answer to this problem.

What Is Considered Kosher ?
My First Quarantine
You may be wondering how this specifically applies to your first ship layout?

Please be advised as below to always follow this golden rule on segregation of early ship module types so as to keep kosher at all times and avoid unnecessary unsightly infestations :

Due Diligence
As already shown I would highly recommend always making the first room in your quarantine complex be the tractor beam as it has 4 connections but also provides excellent fields of fire for sentry guns.

4 on each level with energy barriers on each connection provides excellent containment preventing anything but the most persistent contaminants from lasting more then a few seconds under this magnitude of blistering hell fire.

Further fortifying the only connection leading to the rest of the ship from tractor beam makes it extremely unlikely anything will get to the rest of your ship.

Further liberally adding sentry guns and barriers to the rest of the quarantined modules especially the hanger will further improve pest control to very manageable levels within the quarantined zone.

Prudent Protacol
  • It's recommended to add a quarters in the quarantine zone for sick crew to rest in, otherwise those klutz's will leave and schlep all over the ship spreading diseases or worse on the way to rest.
( After you have a security gate you can lock this to prevent them escaping when sick )

  • Your clones are mostly schmucks so never leave them totally unsupervised all the time as you will still need to monitor them during clean up operations in the quarantine zone no matter how many sentry guns and energy barriers you have.

  • The greenhouse is at risk of contamination but only when a new plant is transported to it, this can be safely resolved by placing a single turret at the drop off point or just be present and ready to start shooting whenever you'r doing some gardening.

  • If you want to be super cautious you can include alien research in quarantine as the test subjects will escape confinement if power is lost.

  • In the event of an uncontrollable containment breach emergency you can sever the connection to the quarantine zone saving the rest of your ship, try to always keep enough resources to rebuild in this event.

  • If you research upgraded versions of the sentry gun or energy barrier you can pick them up and redeploy them to get free upgraded versions.

  • It can be a good idea to ask your clones working in quarantine to change their weapons after you have access to improved firepower as they will certainly need it in their line of work.

  • It is possible to automate the control of infestation with robots but I personally did not find this necessary following these aforementioned kosher guidelines to ship safety.
Please don't go, the clones need you, they look up to you.

Yes, this is a very good guide. Some structures are source of infection. Keeping them away via secure gate and adding protections inside is huge improvement in security.

But do not forget to research the disease samples from coughing! Because your navigation computer will then tell if the star zone is infected with those.
