Setup
In order to be able to open the console or "konsole" as the devs call it, first you need to do some preparation before hand.

In general you toggle the console by pressing F8 key and then you use ENTER to send the command after writing it out.
NOTE: In windowed mode you might not even notice the opened console!


To enable the ability to open the console with the least amount of effort, you need to create a shortcut of the main "HostileWaters.exe" not setup! and add the
-setusupthebomb
at the end of the Target text field.


After that launch the game through that shortcut. Or add it to steam by using the "Add a Game" button and then "Add a Non-Steam Game".

Cheat Codes
  • aicolourdebug - a toggle. Paints 8 teams in different colors in the war room. (Green, Red, Blue, Yellow, Cyan, Pink, Black, Orange)
  • aiscriptdebug - a toggle. Supposedly writes debug info from AIScript.
  • aitrace - no clue
  • allyourbasearebelongtous - plays the easter egg song. Will be interrupted by in game briefing.
  • applycontrolchanges - applies saved keybinds?
  • attractmode - does not work.

    Bindings

  • bind - binds a new key to an action.
    Syntax: [GameKey] [InputKey] (Optional: and/or for all CTRL ALT SHIFT)

  • bindaxis - binds a controller axis to an axis action.
    Syntax: [GameAxis] (Optional: INVERT) [InputAxis OR InputKey] (Optional: CTRL ALT SHIFT) (Optional: InputAxis OR InputKey) (Optional: CTRL ALT SHIFT)
    NOTE: "If doing analogue simulation using digital input there might be two keys" otherwise if it's pure analog use one. Like: bindaxis Fwd/Back JOYSTICK_X

  • buildall - unlocks all vehicles, components, weapons, pilots, enables carrier guns, sets carrier shells to 9 and enables all war room buttons.
  • camdebug - a toggle. Switches camera orbit from specific look angles mode to smooth. (Observe an AI and use Insert, Home, PageUp, Del, End, PageDown) Don't forget about F12! Switches the camera modes.
  • camfirstperson - toggles "FirstPersonCamAvailable" flag. Enables going to first person (camera in the middle of your vehicle or on the weapon) with F12
  • cancelcontrolchanges - doesn't really work.
  • changelevel - obvious. Write changelevel levelXX and instead of XX write a number from 1-25 (8,9,18 are cut levels (if you don't have the files they will not load), 24 does not exist)
  • debugtoggle - does nothing
  • counters - displays various Global counters.
  • defaultkeys - reverts to the default key setup.
  • deletesave - removes the selected save game file and updates the display. Only called from the saved game menu when delete is selected.
  • enableallmovies - unlocks all cinematics
  • enabletyping - Syntax: Enabletyping x, x is some kind of a number, Used for save game? Perhaps overwrites a specific save game slot.
  • endtutorial - Sets tutorial mode to false if you get stuck or something.
  • enteraxisredefine - Doesn't seem to work. Need to be in options room?
    Syntax: EnterAxisRedefine "Packet".
  • enterbuttonredefine - Doesn't seem to work. Need to be in options room?
    Syntax: enterbuttonredefine "Packet".
  • filthylucre - sets your team cash to 999999
  • forceshadowupload - a toggle. Hardware option to force wait for shadows to copy in the GPU.
  • hudrender - a toggle. Doesn't seem to work?
  • invulnerable - sets invincibility. Use invulnerable 1 or invulnerable 0 to turn it on or off.
  • levelmenu - supposed to open the level menu, but doesn't seem to work.
  • loadgame - loadgame X, x is the game save slot number.
  • lowfog - toggles low fog (near terrain). Or you can write ON or OFF
  • menu - doesn't work. Supposed to open some kind of a menu for your current control unit. Would allow you to see mass and moment of inertia in 3 axes.

  • mapboxdebug - doesn't seem to work. Looks like it should print screen coordinates in the log of the war room red box.
  • newgame - sets level to 1 and restarts it.
  • nextlevel - loads next level.
  • nofow - no "fog of war" toggle. Doesn't seem to work properly.
  • objects - supposedly toggles the rendering of objects.
  • nouploads - prevent uploads of dynamic textures
  • printing - toggles various debug log prints.
  • printvidmem - displays texture, local, AGP, Total free/total memory.
  • properchopper - doesn't work.
    Syntax: properchopper 1 or 0. Perhaps made the helicopters more realistic.
  • quit - quits the game.
  • restartlevel - obvious.
  • resumegame - obvious.
  • revealmap - reveals the map.
  • savegame - saves the game either to a slot or a custom name.
  • scriptinfo - a toggle. Displays timers and switch positions if enabled.
  • shadows - toggles shadows. Write shadows and anything after that but not a number!! Like: shadows A
  • sfxdebug - a toggle. Shows sound effects debug.
  • silly - Does nothing. Perhaps made the day/night cycle super fast.
  • simploids - shows object colliders, but does not work.
  • startgamefromfrontend - goes to the war room.
  • terrain - doesn't work
  • terrainhugging - enables different helicopter terrain avoidance logic. Type terrainhugging 0 or 1 or 2. 0 no limit, 1 default, 2 softer.
  • thereisnospoon - a toggle. No reload, fire at will.
  • timings - a toggle or you can set it with 0 or 1. Displays timers.
  • WaveSmooth - temporary debug for sea depth. If no parameter than it will use max depth, or you can set it yourself.
  • Winlevel - take the easy way out and win the level with no effort.
  • Wireframe - toggles wireframe mode on objects.
  • Zfog - a toggle or you can set it with ON or OFF. Toggles fog.
