Malware/ Virus detected (McAfee Users Fix)
By Cruelty
Getting a message relating to virus/ malware detected? I recently did an painstakingly looked through how to fix so you don't have to!
Before anyone asks, no, there is not a virus in this game. The file that your antivirus detects as a virus is NOT a virus, it is a false positive, something that is very common in which a certain file may appear as a virus to an antivirus, when it is in fact not. Again, there is no virus in this game, it is just a mistake on the part of your antivirus.

Before the actual fix

Before the fix, you will want to be sure that Launcher.exe is not deleted before making it an excluded file. The easiest way to do this is to fresh install the game on steam. In the event that it deletes it anyway, you can go into Quarantined Items, find Launcher.exe and restore it. (Should specify that it was deleted from Steam/steamapps/common/Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space/ Launcher)
Also be sure to check in your local files to see if it has been restored. From here the only way it will delete it again is if you try to open the game from steam.

Fix itself
- Open McAfee, look to the left sidebar, click on the button that looks like four boxes, and from there click on "Real-Time Scanning."
- This is where you can exclude files from detection. Click "Add File" and from there navigate to "Steam/steamapps/common/Sam & Max Beyond Time and Space/Launcher" and from there click on Launcher.exe and click open, Launcher should now appear on your list of excluded files.
- There is nothing else you need to do, McAfee will save this automatically. You should now be able to open the game.

This sort of solution should work for other antiviruses. I just wanted to put this out there as I couldn't seem to find an answer that worked with modern day McAfee, since most video tutorials for it are outdated at this point.

Should the game fix this issue, or if the guide becomes outdated information, I will delete it.
