Red Army:

The Red Army was the armed force of the Soviet Union that emerged from the Bolshevik Revolution in 1917. It served as the principal military force of the Soviet state for much of the 20th century. The Red Army played a crucial role in various conflicts, including the Russian Civil War, the Polish-Soviet War, and World War II. It encompassed a diverse range of military branches, including infantry, artillery, aviation, navy, and mechanized forces.

NKVD:

The People's Commissariat for Internal Affairs (NKVD) was one of the key internal affairs agencies in the Soviet Union. Established in 1917, it had a broad range of responsibilities, including internal security, counterintelligence, penitentiary matters, and the suppression of alleged state enemies. The NKVD was a pivotal instrument in political repression and maintaining internal control. NKVD units were present at various levels of society, including among party officials, the military, and the public administration.
