The ULTIMATE SIMPLE guide for new and struggling killers
By Sharker Limetail
This is a simple yet informative guide on how to play killer if you are new and/or are struggling to win.

I wrote this after reading a lot of toxic survivor mains saying the new Anti-Face Camping change makes it impossible for killers to win. This will show you how to win regardless, but not all the time, never expect to win 100% of the time.

1. Survivors are not your boss
This is probably the MOST important part of the guide. Not saying the others aren't.

A survivor does not dictate the way you should play, no amount of whining or complaining should either. A survivor is another player, and unfortunately a lot of them (but not every-single one) are expecting to win 100% of the time, nothing can be done for these people as long as Behavior (BHVR) gives them what they want after doing a lot of crying. There are a few points i want to make this chapter, Tunneling, T-Bagging, and Avoiding Toxicity. I will include personal examples.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Tunneling

Tunneling for a killer is good, but for a survivor is bad. An early kill during a match can really determine how much better it'll go for you. Many survivors i've talked to whine about it, yes this can be frustrating for a survivor and lead you to an easy kill, but tunneling its not the way to go sometimes. This will go over some decision making and how to deal with an unhook successfully.

EX1: Tunneling example: imagine you just got your first hook on 2 completed gens, you're walking away cause of course this is their first hook. maybe you're 20-30 meters away, drop a quick turn around. The unhooked survivor likely hasnt ran away and will likely try to get a hit from you due to post hook immunity, just wait about 8 seconds, then give em a smack.

EX2: Decision Example: Same scenario as above, but poor coordination/understanding of mechanics has led a survivor to try and take a hit for their teammate, give them the smack. Then decide what blood trail/scratch marks to follow. You can tunnel or you can get try to get a hook on another survivor.

There are friendly survivors out there, that dont whine about tunneling, tunneling isn't even real, cause 9 times out of 10 you'll do it on accident and they'll still whine. Never take any advice from a survivor as killer though. 98% of the time they're just trying to win and mislead you.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

T-Bagging

You are guaranteed to see it while playing. No if's and's or but's.
Its a way toxic survivors will try to get a rise out of you, DO NOT GIVE IN. Straight up ignore them unless you're confident you can punish them. Mostly happens during gate opening phase, likely they will sit there trying to get you to come over and miss a hit, this works for them unfortunately all the time. If you're at gate right as it opens though, get some free hits and you'll avoid t-bagging, if you can get a down right before MASH SPACE, laugh it off while you get a free end game kill.

EX: Deathslinger is 100% the easiest anti-tbag killer, just pull em right to you. Wesker is also anti-Tbag, if they're injured while you charge them into a wall, you will instantly grab them, plus its a charge, you can easily rush them.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Avoiding Toxicity

Step 1 = dont be toxic yourself
Step 2 = Turn on anonymous mode
Step 3 = hide post game chat

Remember you are at the mercy of the game, not of the players on the other team, don't expect to win 100% of the time either.
2. Perks
Perks, even if not making or breaking killers, are extremely useful.

Certain general killer perks are good, but the real deal is always killer specific.

Examples of general killer perks that are amazing: Unrelenting and Scourge Hooks.

Unrelenting will save you from lagging and dodging survivors, it has for me, and im currently silver 1 only after 3 days of on and off play.

Scourge hooks reward you for not face camping, 20% faster entity progression is not a joke.

Examples of good specific killer perks: Ultimate Weapon, Eruption, and Superior Anatomy.

Ultimate weapon: Good on xeno, good on anyone, basically if you cant find anyone just slam a locker, it'll help.

Eruption is on Nemesis, Its Nasty good, Places a "parasite", rewards you for damaging generators, then just down anyone, instant 10% reduction on generators, starts regression, and makes survivors scream if they're working on one.

Superior Anatomy is for Wesker, survivors always rush a vault in a chase. Now you're as fast as them when you vault, go ruin them.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Still perks aren't everything, but always READ. If you still aren't sure, hop into a custom with survivor bots, learn the mechanics. Which leads to my final point.
3. Game Knowledge (Luck too)
This is super important, knowledge of game mechanics, just knowing how the flashlight works will save you.

A pallet can be dropped from pretty far, hooks can be destroyed by survivors with certain perks, survivors have a period of immunity after unhooking. These are just basic examples. Each with their own counters like:

Either taking the pallet head on, baiting, or walking away. Hitting the person destroying it, or looking for a new hook nearby. Waiting a period of time before hitting or switching target is smart after an unhook.

Some specific game knowledge, Wesker can't be flashed while vaulting pallet or window. Deathslingers hook will deal damage when broken, it wont down them, but during a chase can be useful to know if you're struggling to get a hit.

There are no end to the amount of mechanics in the game, and a lot of it is something you HAVE to pick up on, you can learn these through playing, you can do it with bots, but you will always learn better challenging yourself against normal players.

Luck is also a part of the game, you could get some bad maps if you're unlucky. some killers have advantages on certain maps. Some have disadvantages on others. You might just have to deal sometimes, but if you leave, i won't blame you, other killers wont either. BHVR will tho, just dont leave every single bad match, there are opportunities to learn. People will always call you toxic, ignore them.
TL:DR (Summary)
TL:DR: There is none. If you don't wanna learn, im not gonna help you.

Never underestimate the survivors, make your own rules, never back down from a challenge, always be willing to learn, never expect to win 100% of the time.
