When creating your Shimeji, you have to first brainstorm the character you want to create a template for.

Listed below are all the different animation expressions you will have to fulfill with a PNG image for your shimeji to have full animation. (Any expressions with * are not required)


All base expressions:

• Regular
  
• Walk
  
• Run
  
• Bouncing
  
• Crawl on right wall
  
• Crawl Passive on the right wall
  
• Dragging
  
• Eat
  
• Falling
  
• Jump
  
• Sleep
  
• *Extra resting Animations

For extra in depth expressions there are:

• *Happiness
  
• *Playfulness
  
• *Health
  
• *Food
  
• *Irritation
  
• *Random

Once you successfully gather all your images in the form of a PNG for the different expressions, you will move on to the next step.

Now that all you've gathered all your assets as PNG's, you will begin to construct your template within DPP.

• Start off with right clicking your current Shimeji to open up your phone

• This will open your phone, once open, you will click the 3 bar hamburger

• The 'Pets & Templates' menu will pop up. You will need to select 'Create Template'

• Now the 'Template Creation Master' menu is where you name your template and select a couple different options.
  
• Name your template at the top
  
• If you are using pixel art, mark the 1st check box
  
• If you want to flip your artwork horizontally, check the 2nd box. (In most cases, you wont use this)

• Go through all of the animation prompts and add the proper PNG's to the appropriate expression. IE. Sleeping PNG for sleep expression

• You'll be prompted with a Completed screen, press 'continue'.

• If you have extra rest animations you would like to add, now's your time otherwise press 'Continue'

• Now for your own customization stats. Slide the slider to the right for faster stat gain. Press 'Continue' when finished.

• Lets line up your character on the wall. Use the slider to place your character where you want them to be when climbing around your screen. Hit next.
  

• Now lets do the same but for the floor, line up the vertical slider with their feet on the floor. When finished, press next.

• You'll be met with a completed screen, press 'continue'
  

________________________________________________________________

• We will have to set the mouth position, move the vertical and horizontal sliders to zero in on where you want the eating animation to happen.

• Finally the last option is to add some extra pizzazz to your character. This is where you'll add your last 6 optional animations. If you don't have any to place here, just press 'continue'

• You've successfully added your template to DPP!
  
  Press continue to close out of the menu.
  (It is likely the game will close, just reopen DPP)

• To upload your created template in DPP, you must right click your character.

• Once your phone is open, click the up arrow↑ with the tray to upload your shimeji.

• The 'Upload or edit workshop' window will pop up. You will want to look for the same up arrow↑ with tray symbol next to your template under the template list. Click your template.

• When you're all finished, pressed 'Send' and your workshop character will be uploaded to the workshop for all the community to see and interact with!
