Introduction of sorts
I'm writing this as a level 15 player with passable skills. Not encouraging, right? Don't worry. I've won enough to know what works, and I've lost more than enough to know what doesn't work. This is a very basic list of "Do's and Don'ts," tips, strategies, etc. for the main three characters. No money needed to use this guide. I will add more as I go, maybe even including implants.

Ready? Let's take it from the top.

THE BASIC THREE: Vengeful Star, VexWrecker and the Negociator.
Vengeful Star: the Striker
The Striker's goal is simple: get the disk into the goal as fast as possible. Sounds easy. Problem is, you've got to deal with the other Striker, Midfielder and Goalie getting in the way. If you want to win, you're going to have to nail the character down.

-Quick breakdown-
Vengeful star: A jetpack-clad midfielder (the Striker is technically a midfield player) who can amplify the ball’s velocity and move in hyperspeed.

When the game starts:
Something I suggest doing is to, at the beginning of the first round (when the disk spawns in the center of the arena), use your boost skill and nab the disk immediately. You will give yourself an immediate advantage. This also allows you to see how the other team moves at the beginning of a round: sometimes the two midfields head straight out. Sometimes they split up. Sometimes all three players head for the disk. Figure them out!

DO practice disk control. The easiest mistake to make as the Striker is to get excited about an opening and rush the goal. Holding the disk in front of you makes for an easy steal from any direction. Practice travelling backwards, shifting left and right to keep the other players from snatching the disk.

DO pass the disk. You cannot hold it forever, and a huge mistake is to hang onto it and make a break for the goal when the other players are close. If they're smart at all, they'll get between you and Vex, forcing you to dodge until your Phuel runs out (Phuel is the amount of time you can hold a disk).

DO use the boost shot. When you have a clear shot at the goal, launch the disk and hit it immediately with the left-click shot to double its speed. It always helps, especially if the goalie is close.

DO practice using the speed boost. You travel faster, but you also lose traction and the ability to stop. It's easy to overshoot your destination and another player with the disk can easily turn 90 degrees and avoid your attempted steal. Adjust to the change of speed and traction and decide in advance where you want to go.

DON'T help the goalie. You are a midfielder and belong mid-field. Never get in the goalie box. On several occasions I have missed a shot (playing as the goalie) because the Striker was trying to help. You cannot travel through a teammate, and if you bounce the goalie out of the box, you're going to get scored on. Only if the goalie is out of teleport abilities and is far from the goal should you step in.

DO get open. It is the goalie's job to catch the disk and return it to the field. I've lost many points (and made many points) due to the other team's VS getting close and taking a shot, folled by the goalie grabbing the disk and hesitating because he has no one to pass to. The other team's VS will swoop in, swipe the disk and shoot an easy goal. If the disk is out of your reach, change positions to give the goalie someone to pass to, especially if Vex is getting covered.

---

In general, remember that your team is relying on you to make the points. You need to be fast to react and good at choosing a route. If you're terrible, practice. If you lose, learn from it. Trust me, you'll get better, and above all have fun.
VexWrecker: the Midfielder
Total disclosure: I have almost no experience as Vex. Fortunately, I have plenty of experience fighting him and on occasion watching him take all the shots for his team.

VexWrecker: A flying biker who can fire long range missiles and boost his movement speed

When the game starts:
Get upfield immediately. Your objective is to provide support for the Striker and there are two good ways of going about it: get open so the Striker can pass it back (or forwards, if you have a clear shot at the goal) or get between the other team's midfielders. A fantastic strategy is to block the passage between the other team's midfielders when they have the disk. The carrier has no choice but to stall until his Phuel runs out, take a risky shot at the goal or pass the disk to himself if he's close to a wall. If a player opts to pass the disk to himself, maintain a position between him and his teammate. Your goalie can block the shot and pass it back out if your Striker doesn't make a steal.

Use the long-range shot on the enemy goalie when he blocks a shot from the Striker (or from you). For a few critical seconds, he will be holding the disk right in front of his goal. Use the shot to break his grasp and score a goal. It has worked every single time I've seen it done.

DO get open so the Striker can pass it back to you.

DO pass it back to the Striker.

DO use the speed boost on your Striker. That little extra bit of speed is priceless when they're trying to avoid the other team, and it boosts your speed as well.

DON'T help the goalie.
The Negotiator: the Goalie
The Negotiator (hey, they fixed the typo) is easily the hardest position to play, not because blocking shots is the hardest part of the game (it isn't, depending on the other team's skill), but because the blame will inevitably fall on you if your team loses, even if your midfielders were terrible. You're going to have to accept that you will get raged at.

Good? Good.

The Negotiator: A robotic behemoth and a natural goalie, who can teleport to the goal for last-minute saves

When the game starts:
You have two good options. Either move back a step and get comfy in the goal box or grab the disk and go, especially if you are in the center. Carry the disk as far infield as you can before you see other players. As soon as the other team shows up, pass the disk to a teammate. You improve your chance of maintaining control of the disk by having a third person, rather than letting the midfielders go and risk the other team getting between them.

DO practice defending the goal. There are two solid ways to go about this: use the break ability (left mouse) to smash the disk away from the carrier or catch the disk mid-shot. Both require serious aim and a lot of screw-ups.

DO practice passing the disk back out. I mentioned earlier that a lot of goals are scored because the Goalie hesitated to pass the disk back out. During that brief interval, a midfielder ran in, grabbed the disk and scored.

DO use the teleport to return to the goal zone if you play offense. I have facepalmed as goalies have tried to outrun the disk back to the goal, missing completely and getting nowhere near it, when they could have teleported and grabbed it. Once you've used up your teleport functions, get back in the goal box and stay there. If a member from the other team scores, you are to blame.

I have seen a team's offense carried entirely by the Negotiator, simply because he had excellent disk control. Keep shifting to avoid players moving in for a steal. Your best option is to let a player from the other team advance, then turn and bounce off them (more or less), forcing them away from you and giving you an opening.

--

If all else fails, practice as a goalie. Stay in the goal zone and catch or deflect shots made at your goal. You can't go wrong just sweeping the goal and leaving offense to the other guys. Most importantly, keep calm and carry on.

If you want to check someone's position at the start of a round you can just press numpad 1 to change the camera to the now defunct instant replay camera.

Then you can press numpad 4 to go back to your normal camera.

You really don't need to waste Vengeful/Hikari/Stalker's ulties for that.

Great guide! I would add though, that when playing with a goalie who's not really good, Vex can defend a bit as well, he should just try to stay out of the goalbox.

But you could include it to the guide so more people know it ;)

It's faster if the Striker uses her ultimate (it relies on Vex having fast turning and good aim. And that he knows the strategy, which is unlikely because I rarely see it happen), and if it scores a goal it's worth the use.

As the VesWrecker you should boost your striker at the beginning of the game. Then the striker doesnt waste his ultimate.
