Trivia
The Waset or as we would know it, Thebes or Luxor, is a siege map you can do in-game. Waset is a historical capital of Egypt, it has even at times been in city state type of existance when Egypt has been splintered. During the disintegration of the 19th Dynasty[en.wikipedia.org], Amenmesse is supposed to have taken control of Thebes. It is thought that Amenmesse might have ruled from Thebes as his capital while he was Pharaoh. Thebes is also the religious capital or a such centre of Egypt, like the famous annual Opet Festival[en.wikipedia.org]. The irl Legitimacy points of holding this city would have been massive in other words.

In-game you can however change history and do as you like. The in-game map isn't clearly 1:1 with the real Waset, I think CA crammed maybe a 2:1 portion into this and thus many things had to be reduced, cutting temples and buildings. The real-life site is much bigger, personally I think CA should have gone with only Karnak as the battle map and made that more 1:1.
My Hattusa guide is thus much more authentic, since they had implemented Hattusa a lot more truthfully to the historical situation. The Thebes map is this not a proper historical depiction of the City. An explanation is probably that Thebes covers an 93 km2 area while Hattusa is below 2 km2.

All this said, you can still clearly see most of what they where going for in every detail of the map. Also I have to say, the map feels massive when you actually launch it and play, so you can imagine how massive the irl Thebes would've been.
Montu and Karnak

On the map, just below the the right side of the Start battle button you can see the Precinct of Montu[en.wikipedia.org]
Below Montu you got Karnak proper, Karnak[en.wikipedia.org] is the walled section, roughly in the middle where the camera icon is on the above map, with those chunky Temple complexes. The main temple complex [en.wikipedia.org]being the temple to Amun. Through this temple runs the Central Court road with both the Great Hypostyle Hall and a bunch of Pylons on either side when you walk up the road to the temple of Amun. This temple complex would've been the main temple to Amun in all of Egypt. This temple would also have been one of, if not the main temple in the New Kingdom[en.wikipedia.org].
South of these temples you have a Sacred Lake. Left you have a photo of the modern version and right CA Sofia's depiction of it.
Temples of Mut and Luxor
To the South you got the Temple of Mut[en.wikipedia.org] and down to the extreme south there's what I think is meant to depict the Luxor Temple[en.wikipedia.org]. The Temple of Mut was where the mother Goddess was worshipped, with it being an important site for the Opet Festival. While Luxor was it's own grand complex, akin to Karnak, but not as large. Though here in-game it's way smaller and miniaturised. Luxor would have been the place of crowning of the Pharaoh of Egypt. So if you ascend the throne in-game, this is probable where you get crowned.

I've been wanting to do Pi-ramesess next, I have much of the history of the area. However, I have little to connect it to the geography and the city in-game, such as maps etc. I have been looking for sources, currently I feel I couldn't do such a guide justice
