Go to steamapps\common\GRID Legends\input and open input_icons.xml


Start editing the first controller (XInput)


Afterwards you should look like this (I wish I could provide the pre-edited file)


Make sure Steam Input is turned on for your controller

Enjoy! This will obviously replace the Xbox icons completely, but considering you are playing GRID for some reason this content was removed.

Note that this guide only applies on only Steam version of the game where Steam Input is enabled for non-XInput controllers (except racing wheels and other peripherals).

Yeah I thought of doing this when I was almost done 100%ing the game so I'm not getting much use out of it LOL

It’s ironic, considering that the newer F1 games have perfect support and they run on the same engine

no prob this is possible cuz they left the assets in even though they didn't implement actual DS4/5 support
