Creators Notes: A weird detail I've noticed when creating this is how Carolina's appearance changes from scene to scene as well as in between cgi and Machinima cutscene's. Sometimes you can't 100% accurately recreate her armor due to little details added in those animations so I wanted to clarify that her appearance here is based solely on season 12 which was made using Halo 4. I will insert 2 images below showing the changes in her appearance.
The image on the left shows her with Mark V Legs and Mark VI arms while the image on the right is with Mark VI legs and Mark V arms. These screenshots were taken momenst apart. The first at 1:42:52 and the second at 1:46:29

Unlock this by shooting any one of the hidden Red vs. Blue radios found in the spartan ops missions.
(A section found below in this guide is completely dedicated to the location of all the radios)

On the multiplayer map Beaver Creek in Halo 2 you can find a secret message by the sniper spawn asking the question "Why am I here?" This is a reference to the time old question of "Do you ever wounder why we're here?" from the very first episode of Red vs. Blue. Finding this will also grant you the "Why Am I Here?" achievement.








Following the famous line from the first season and fans referring to the warthog as a puma, the developers took notice and decided to add the text "Puma" to the tires of the warthog in Halo 3 through into Halo: Reach.






Grifball is a community-created gametype made by Burnie Burns of Rooster Teeth.
The origin of Grifball can be traced back to an interview with its creator:

"In Season Four of Red vs Blue, Sarge is taking pot-shots with a Sniper Rifle at Grif, whom he hates. He’s having a great time and blurts out 'This is the best game since Grifball!' That was written about three years ago and we always wondered what kind of game Grifball would have been. That’s why the ball carrier turns orange – everyone in the game is constantly trying to hammer-smash Grif and even if he scores, he explodes. Either way, Sarge wins."

While the first off-hand joke about "Grifball" was made in Season 4 of Red vs. Blue, the actual practical development of the gametype only started three years later when Rooster Teeth was making the Heroic Map Pack "D.I.Y." trailer and experimenting with Forge and custom Assault game types in the Foundry map.






On the Halo 2 Classic Map Turf you can find two vending machines on either side of the map, one with a rooster and one with Teeth. Although this isn't a direct reference to Red vs Blue, The company name Rooster Teeth was founded on a recurring insult throughout the series where members of the cast would call each other "c**k bite". This inadvertently makes it a Red vs Blue reference.

Once you complete the easter egg and reach Halseys Lab you will find on one of the computer databases a tribute to Red vs. Blue with the text below reading:

SUBJECT: RvB [CIV] KNOWN ASSOC.: Burns B, Hullum M, Ramsey G,
Gustavo S, Saldana J, et al.

This one and his cohorts have piqued my curiosity with their incessant
puppeteering. While we busy ourselves bending all of this technology in
service of the war, they twist and contort the public message of our
effort into something else.

I'll admit, like the massive menagerie of men and women that now hang
on their every word, I've laughed at their antics on more than one
occasion. I find their incessant mockery and immaturity strangely
cathartic, even if I cannot help but question whether or not this
protracted war has wreaked irreversible harm and havoc upon these
poor souls' sanity.






I couldn't find any actual recordings of these but they are doccumented as official in game lines on the Halo Alpha site.[halo.fandom.com]

"Shotgun! S**t!" IWHBYD needed, reference to RvB.

"Got something for ya!" - Throwing a Grenade. Possibly a reference to Red vs Blue when Donut kills Tex.

"Damn, I should have brought my mittens." - Red vs Blue reference to Caboose.




In several missions, there are UNSC Army soldiers who will fight alongside you in the game with aliases from the voice actors of Red vs Blue:

Gustavo Sorola, voice of Simmons, appears in Exodus, Pillar of Autumn, and on The Package.
Geoff Ramsey, voice of Grif, appears in ONI: Sword Base, Exodus and Nightfall.
Burnie Burns, voice of Church and Vic; appears in Nightfall.
Matt Hullum, voice of Sarge, Doc, and O'Malley, appears on The Package.




There is also a reference when an Elite dies saying "HURK! BLAH!," which is a common saying made by characters that are dying in Red vs Blue. Elites will also yell out either "HONK!" or "BLARG," which are common sayings from the Elite in the series.

In the Halo 3 mission "CROW'S NEST" Rally point alpha, shortly after you encounter your first wave of enemies you continue straight down that big hallway till you find a curve in the hallway that leads down a slope. on your right you will find a Marine knocking on a fortified door asking to be let in with a voice coming from the other side. These are the voice actors from the Red vs. Blue cast and will change depending on the difficulty.

Doc's Voice: The password so we don't open the door for Brutes.

Tucker: Do I sound like a Brute to you?!

Tucker: If I was held prisoner by Brutes and knew the password, then the Brutes could just force me to tell you the password and you'd open the door for them.

[Brief pause]

Doc's Voice: Okay, well now I'm definitely not gonna open the door.

Tucker: But we need ammo!

Doc's Voice: Well why don't you go ask your Brute buddies, then?

Grif's Voice: Does he know the password?

Simmons: He wasn't at the meeting either!

Caboose's Voice: No, okay, see, you - you got it wrong again. See, you said the same thing as last time.

Church: *sigh* I'm being serious; I don't know the password!

Caboose's Voice: No no, see, you changed the first part. See, that - that part was the right part. See, now you've got the whole thing wrong!

Church: No! I forgot what the password is and I just need you to open the door!

[Brief Pause]

Caboose's Voice: Alright, c'mon, man, now you're just guessing!

1-5 Core
Commander Palmer: "Commander Palmer to Fireteam Castle. You're on Spartans, Dalton's got targets for you."
Caboose: "Um, the regular radio guy isn't here right now. Sorry."

While Crimson is defending the artifact.

Commander Palmer: "Fireteam Castle, this is Commander Palmer. I need an ETA on clear skies."
Caboose: "Seriously, the regular radio guy said he'd be right back. He's in the bathroom."

Crimson activates the first computer.

Caboose: "What does this button do?"
Church: "Caboose, don't touch anything!"
Caboose: "But I'm great at buttons. Oh, look at that explosion!"

Church: "Oh great! You broke it!"
Caboose: "No. The fire broke it - ah, see? Great, now I'm on fire too now. Awesome."

Recording ends. Crimson activates the third.

Grif: "Hey, Simmons? What do you think this thing does?"
Simmons: "How would I know? It's a forty-foot, seamless monolith with one massive holographic button. It could be anything from a giant microwave oven to a weapon with enough power to-"
Caboose: [screaming] "I'm on fire!"
Simmons: "Hey, is that Caboose?"
Caboose: [indistinct screaming]
Grif: "Probably. He's on fire."
Caboose: [screaming] "It's like the armor! It does nothing! Ah!"

Grif: "They're in battle, idiot! How dramatic do you want it to get?"

Vic: "Oh, come on, dude! I thought you saved my number at the party last night. You were really killin' it at the karaoke. If you know what I'm sayin', dude."
Pause.

Commander Palmer: "Miller? Status?"
Miller: "Working on it, Commander."
Pause.

Vic: "Yeesh! Easy there, Commander Buzzkill. I'm going to 80's night tomorrow, so hey. Give me a buzz after you save the universe and all that. Hasta luego. Luego bye bye."

5-5 Spartan Thorne
When the equipment drop comes.

Sarge: "I heard you boys wanted a lift, but all I've got are these guns. I suppose you could assemble some sort of primitive gun-like vehicle out of the parts... But who knows what the insurance rate would be on that bad boy"

Several Gravity Hammers marked "Sports equipment" are dropped.

Sarge: "Dammit, Grif! You dropped your cargo! Now how are we supposed to play Grifball?"
Grif: "I think the bigger question here might be why a military vehicle was sent into battle with sports equipment?"

After Crimson has reached the nukes.

Sarge: (mocking voice) "This is Corporal Switchback to Infinity!"
Commander Palmer: "Go ahead, Switchback."

Commander Palmer: "Crimson, you're the closest responder. Fall out and help Switchback."
Grif: "Babba booey! Babba booey!"

When Crimson disables the warhead in the server room.

Simmons: "Private Simmons to Command! There was a huge firefight down here, and engine's all shot up! I need Maintenance ASAP!"

Simmons: (sarcastically) "Oh, great! More people with guns! I'm sure THAT'LL fix the engine!"

10-3 Seize The Power
When Crimson is about to board the Lich.

Miller: "Crimson, I can't say I think it's sane but it's the only move we've got. Get on board the Lich by any means necessary."
Agent Georgia: "Cool, jetpacks. That'll help us get on that ship or my name isn't Agent Georgia."

This section will solely revolve around Red vs. Blue easter eggs in other games and media not part of the MCC. I am currently working on another guide for infinite and a link will be added once it's finished.







I always thought this was a poster but according to the halopedia it was official concept art. Now you can say it's a coincidence that the only two Mark VI's on this poster are wielding their Red vs Blue counterpart specific weaponry but considering the level of depth to the easter eggs so far I think it's easier to believe that the concept artists were also fans.





Yet another easter egg of the wheels being called Puma. The Hogsticker is an exclusive vehicle that can only be obtained and is available to everyone with a copy of the game on Xbox





Under the Car Mastery section for the M12S Warthog CST You can find 2 skills with names referencing that scene where Sarge and Grif debate what animal it looks like. This vehicle is easily obtained with ingame currency in the autoshow.





In the Cataclysm expansion of WOW in twilight highlands you can find an Orc Stronghold named Bloodgulch[wowpedia.fandom.com] and in it there's an npc named Griff[wowpedia.fandom.com]





I was debating on even adding this one due to the mistreatment of the original cast by "sHaTsQuAd" and since I've never really been a fan of fortnite in the first place, but it is an reference nonetheless that isn't currently a part of any playlist so I feel it's important to add before it gets lost to time

This is a short video from the vfx artists at Corridor featuring an all out war between various red and blue rivals, Mario and Sonic, Jedi and Sith, etc... but what stands out to any RvB fan is the spartan's Church and Simmons voiced by their original voice actors Burnie and Gus.

Made in 2009 as a limited edition comic-con exclusive. A very valuable collectable for fans of the series as its the only grifball spartan in the Halo Mcfarlane toy run and possibly the only officially licensed Red vs. Blue action figure





The "Bleep bloop! " achievement is a reference to the RvB PSA on achievements.



Chupathingy is a secret achievement/trophy in the Red Dead Redemption Undead Nightmare DLC pack.








Microsoft commissioned Red vs. Blue videos for Xbox demo kiosks found in game stores and for a developer conference. This has since been lost media until a guy posted a reddit thread detailing how he extracted them.



Barenaked Ladies has also commissioned videos for their concerts, as frontman Ed Robertson was a fan of the series, and would later voice a character, Captain Butch Flowers. The only known footage of this actually happening is this consert audio uploaded to spotify[open.spotify.com]

This mod replicates the fight scene from season 8 between Tex and the Reds in it's own custom level with animations and I thought it deserved some credit.
