Wivien. The Second Chance (WIP)

Wivien is a talented beginning writer. Every morning she left her cozy bookcases and went to the city library to do her favorite thing — reading old books. Their smell, the rustle of the pages, the muffled atmosphere and the silence of the library inspired her to create her own works. She began writing novels and performing original poems at literary evenings.
One day Wivien was enthusiastically reading and writing out notes for her works. Unnoticed by her, night fell. That night, the library caught fire. Wivien was too deeply engrossed in the lines that she ignored the smell of smoke filling the upper floor. The rumble of collapsing shelves distracted her from another novel. Wivien turned and saw flames behind her. Panicking, she hurriedly began to collect her papers, writing pens, inkwells, but during this time the fire spread through the second floor, igniting books. Wivien ran downstairs, choking on the smoke and burning herself on the flames. Her attention was focused only on how not to drop a single book, from which the bloody debris of shelves knocked her down. A loud crack made Wivien look up worried — the last aspiration of life was interrupted by the collapsed ceiling.
Now there was only emptiness in front of Wivien. A binding cold enveloped her, and a dull silence squeezed her mind. Finally, she heard a treacherous voice. A strange entity offered her a deal: Wivien would get a second chance, but would become part of the world that brought her back to life. At that moment, she agreed to everything.
When she opened her eyes again, she saw her black clawed hands clutching a glowing feather, and felt the thorns digging into her body: She was lying in a scattering of crimson roses.

- Overlaps the Dark Spirit
